Having been called in here very many times over the past few months to answer for this or that misdemeanor, Oliver was well acquainted with the room's nuances and eccentricities – most of them fungal.

I'm two towns south, in Rockville. I've been up to Germantown a couple of times. Nice quiet place.

If I set up a write-in at the Bauer Drive Community Center in Rockville, would anyone come?

We have a very active group that meets at Shady Grove Panera, but we have also tried other locations. In fact, several of us have been meeting year-round, so there could be authors at "our" Panera right now!

I'd come to Bauer, but Panera is also good.

All locations count!
And yes, if you want to have a write-in in Germantown, we'll arrange it.

Germantown!!!! Yay!! I was feeling so lost among Anne Arundel and Baltimore county posts. Are we allowed to have write ins at the public library?

Hooray--I'm in Germantown also (work here too). The nearest Maryland Writer's Association meeting is in Frederick, but sounds like there's a bunch here in Germantown.

I'm in Gaithersburg, so not too far. And I go to the Rockville campus of Montgomery College. I intend to try and attend at least one of the Write-Ins at Panera, but we'll see how well that actually pans out. The time is not TOO long after my afternoon class, so it's just a matter of getting from one place to another. And means I might want to bring my laptop to class (which I don't usually do those days.)

Still have not decided on a topic, genre, theme, characters, or font ;-)

I'd like something in Germantown. It's closer for me than ShadyGrove.

Let's meet at the library sometime!

(And fellow Rockville/Germantown campus MC students - wouldn't it be creepy if we've seen each other? We should have some sort of secret identifier.)

I'm in Germantown! I moved here about a year ago and would love to meet up with other NaNoWriMos. The Borders in Germantown also got free WiFi if anyone was interested in meeting up there.

I'm just across the street from the library--I'll take a walk through and see if there is a good location (with access to power outlets). Can someone else check out the G'town Panera and Borders so we can compare notes? I went to the kickoff at the Shady Grove Panera and it was nice.

The Germantown Library has several areas with tables and chairs or cubicles with power outlets and wireless. They even have a room with PCs. The librarian says that sometimes they all fill up and it's hard to find a place to sit. There is no food or drink allowed.
I'd rather go somewhere where we can eat and drink if we want to.

Hey, I'm in Germantown, right across the way from the Fire Department and the movie theater, and the library and all that isn't much of a walk for me either, so if there was something going on around there, I'd definitely try to show up, since otherwise I'd probably be making the trip to Shady Grove.

I live up in Clarksburg which is like 5-10 minutes from Germantown. Right now, however, I am studying up at Frostburg State so I'm not at home down there.

The G'town Panera is a good place for a write-in; lots of space. The Borders is OK--it's really hard to get a seat there. There's also a new Panera in the Kentlands in Gaithersburg--very spacious. For any 21+ writers, I believe Dogfish Head Pub has free WiFi. Maybe if the nice weather holds we could take over the patio for a write-in. Beer might help get some of the creative juices flowing!
