Just wanted to finally introduce myself and see if anyone else was from the Abilene area. This is my first time and has been a life long ambition to write a book. A friend introduced me to this and I figured this would be a good kick in the pants to get me started. I'm 44 and back in school to finish a degree I started a long time ago. So Hi everyone.

I live in Abilene, too - wondered if anyone else here was doing NaNoWriMo. I did this last year and it's a ton of fun. Welcome to the club!

Hi y'all. An hour and a half? I must drive fast. It's about 45 minutes for me..lol. Anyway I am so glad to hear someone else in the area. This is my first time and am looking forward to it. I have wanted to write a novel or book or something since I was a kid. So this is a great push for me. I am trying to turn some others on to this so hopefully we could have enough for a good meetup. I'll warn you though, I'm old as dirt(44) and gimpy(I wrecked my motorcycle and pulled my knee apart and just had surgery). I have been sitting around on my but playing video games and watching movies on my comp so this would be a great time for writing. If I can pull myself away from Guildwars and torrents long enough to do it. haha Anyway, glad to hear from you.

I drive the speed limit, Pops. Ahaha, just kidding. >>
Nah, I'm actually a really bad time-teller. It could be less. I'm just generalizing. I guess. Whatever.
Glad to hear you're participating, though, even if you're recovering. And hey, 44 is not as old as dirt. >>

lol..Yes if keeping my foot to the floor when driving was a drug, than I would be a speed freak.
I meant to tell you that it is awesome that you are coming to HSU. Up until a semester and a half ago I was finishing my degree at ACU to get into Physicians Assistant school and was seriously considering working in Brownwood when I'm done. I am about to start back at Cisco and online and will take some classes at HSU because ACU is just too freaking expensive. When you come you will have to come visit Beltway Park Baptist church with us. It is awesome and also where most college students go, from all 3 major universities here. Plus the music just flat out rocks. I play keyboard and lead in youth stuff for them sometimes.
Also wanted to throw my offer of help if anyone needs it. I used to own an automotive repair shop here. Knowing a good mechanic, especially one you can trust is essential in life...lol. So if anyone has a problem or question about their vehicle or an estimate that someplace else has given you, feel free to call. You can also just call to introduce yourself.325-513-3181 Yes, I am probably more trusting than I should be but oh well. If anyone wants to steal my identity, go ahead. I will laugh at the debt you inherit.
I would also say if anyone wants to get together as a group and throw ideas around, that would be great.
Y'all have a great day.

Howdy there,
Dani here. I'm on my second time around this circuit but by no means is it my second attempt at writing a good story. I've been in Abilene since I was born over 19 and a half years ago. I like this place. I've been in college almost three full semesters at McMurry University working on my Major in History and a minor in Greek and English and Writing, I'm going for a specification in Classical studies and mythology.
I hope to see you all through this adventure. It's hard, its a challenge, but its an experience you'll want to relive again and again.and again. I'm hoping to get some more of my campus involved through the inner workings of the English departments. I hope to see more of them here as well.
I wish you all the luck in the world and my the muses be kind to you this year.
Dani Dai

I remember you. :3 Kind of. I don't think we ever met up.
I'm wondering what good places there are around here to go sit at with my laptop and write. What do you think? In the Brownwood area, I mean.

Hello everybody! I'm from Abilene as well. :3 I'm 19, and this is my first time doing NaNo. I've written some short pieces, but nothing particularly interesting, so it's pretty exciting. Good luck to all of you!

Hey guys! I'm from Abilene, but just moved down to San Angelo for school. I'm interested in everyone getting a group started in San Angelo and in Abilene, but I'm a bit to busy to be a ringleader.
I love you all!! Good luck!

Woot! Glad other Abilene folks are here. I was a bit disappointed when I noticed that ODESSA had a special region thingy and we didn't! Last time I checked Abilene was a lot bigger than Odessa (and cooler too.) Not that I'm unbiased, mind you.
Go Abilene!

I'm in Abilene! Just bought a house here two weeks ago, so this is a pretty crazy-busy month for me... but I'm giving NaNo my all and will hopefully finish my 50k. I did NaNo unofficially last year (completed 50k in Nov, but didn't post it to the site, for some insane reason... ) so I'm an official newbie this year.
Good luck to all of you!

@Andy84: Odessa was a lot bigger a few years ago, right? It kind of just...died. o.o
Abilene is a lot bigger, though, yeah. :3 Seems we don't have enough people posting here, though, so...hm. :3 Maybe we just gotta convince more people to show up here.

yo @ Selvaron. I like the idea of posting our daily word counts. I did that last September with a group of people and I actually won. It sorta helps with the whole being accountable thing. So, if you don't mind, I'm gonna do it.
Word count: 13,393. A little over two thousand words so not too terrible.
Happy Writing

Hey everyone~ I thought I might as well come introduce myself.
This is my first year doing This and I'm pretty excited. :)
I just recently moved here to
this little patch of nowhereAbilene a few months back. I'm a bit suprised that so many people from here have signed up though. xDI was planning on asking my school's principal if I could put up flyers or something, to get more people interested. The more the merrier, right?

I'm thinking about going somewhere on Sunday and taking my laptop with me, to write. Kind of like a write-in, except I wouldn't be doing any hosting, I guess. Eh.

Hello! I am another one from Abilene. Looks like there are a few of us here. This is my first NaNoWriMo. I hadn't heard of it until a friend of mine introduced me to it. I think I am doing well so far. What I am most excited about is sidelining my inner editor and actually producing more than a chapter or two. NaNo is showing me that I CAN produce and that it is ok if it isn't all put together now. I can edit later.
Good luck all! Hope to see you at the finish line on Nov 30th!
