Out of curiousity, when's your best times for writing?

Me I find myself most productive in the morning before I head to work or before I sleep, mainly because my muses like to do all their running around in my head when I'm asleep.

Whenever I feel like it, usually at night, when I'm most likely to be depressed, and most likely to have my creative side churn out a million ideas an hour.

First thing in the morning, provided I got a good night's sleep before, and in the evenings.

Nobody writes during their lunch time at work? Or too busy looking for food? Here's a hint - bring lunch from home. Lunch time is a good time to write because most people would be out and you'll have the office to yourself!

When I was working, I used to bring food from home, mostly because I'm not supposed to go out in the hot sun. I used to have the whole office to myself, and hated it when colleagues decided not only to stay in, but to invite outsiders to use the office for various "activities".

Sorry for double post. I thought I clicked the "edit" button but it was the "quote" button. There's no "edit" button!! There's no "delete" button either!!!

Difference between the two posts - I added a link to "activities".

Haha, probably because food times are my "me-times". I like having it all to my own thoughts while I eat and being at work outside my personal workspace doesn't fire up my brain.

I used to write during lunch time, but I find they're unproductive because I have a hard time switching from office work to novelling. My lunch times are usually times for me to read rather than write, cause it simply takes too much brainpower to switch (not to mention the office's too cold to write sometimes).

Lol. I always seem to get my story ideas at weird times like when I'm in bed or having to leave the house for a music class. I write whenever the ideas come so I don't really have a fix time for writing although I try to set aside a few minutes a day just for writing.

Whenever I have inspiration, not facing writer's block and having major headaches with work and life. I don't exactly have a schedule planned out for when I'm gonna write, so most of the time it's "Gah! I thought of something new! I need to write it down now!". Or something to that extent. But I get my ideas best during night. :3

Night. Because I feel more spirited to write at that time.

A long time ago I found that midnight and an hour afterwards made the perfect hours for writing, but since I started my job with the magazine I work my days drag on as late as 11pm before I get home, thus giving me absolutely no interest in writing any further coherent sentences for the rest of the day.

Now I find that writing is best done in the late morning before the lunchtime lag; anytime after lunch I just wallow in my seat, reflecting on how unproductive I am.

After a productive trip to the 'bilik termenung' aka toilet.

Cmon guys, don't tell me you didn't get your best ideas after a session on the seat?

Actually I do, but it's like a dream. It goes away after I leave the toilet. Staying up late also does the same thing. As an added bonus, if I stay awake for more than 24 hours, I tend to get visitations from Incan monkey Gods that tell me exactly what to write.

If only I could translate their strange and beautiful language.

Why not write in that language? :3

I usually write late at night, because my work hours are just insane and the earliest I arrive home usually is around 8.30pm. So by the time I've done showering, having dinner, resting, it would be almost 11pm. But I'm a night owl, so staying up writing is awesome for me :D

Cause then I would need someone to translate it after I sober up. Hard to find someone who speaks Incan monkey.

My time was the wrong time. I get all sleepy and dreamy at night, like now, but this IS the time my typing hands are working effectively with my brain's creative juices. You know, translating thoughts into words, stuffs like that.

While the best time to generate idea is at night, before dozing off, I tend to get better and longer thoughts on the story before dozing off into an evening nap.

@Askas My bilik termenung is bedroom, which is very unproductive. :< I don't know how toilet helps me. It gets me wobbly on my knees and a little light. Not dreamy (needed for writing). :D
