It may be entirely possible that I'm the only Reedie crazy enough to attempt NaNo plus school...but if I'm not, we should form a support group or something so we all come out of the month alive...
or we could just crash PSU's group...

Maybe you are a Reedie only and maybe I'm a PCC only. Maybe we can join forces? Let me know.

Hey there. Fellow Reedie here (if albeit new to the title)! Am terrible at this whole keeping committed to nanowrimo thing though certainly I've tried enough times to know that I am extremely indecisive and may decided I hate my novel after getting 5000 words in and decide to wallow in my own personal pit of misery and start again. Then fail. Then rinse and repeat. But heh. We'll see if I stay committed this year. But it's good to see a fellow Reedie attempt this crazy awesome project.

YEAH! Okay, so long as there's a group of us doing this I think I can possibly find the motivation to make it through. Then again, I've failed every other year so I don't quite see what'll keep me in this time around. Love?

----------If we could organize it, we should all meet up before it starts. I'd be willing to have people over to my apartment--I live in the Birchwoods.

More Reedies! Maybe we won't die with company!
And we should totally meet, or have a write-in at midnight on Saturday.

I'm a Reed not-quite-graduate of 2006, and live about a mile from the campus.
You are a brave soul for attempting to do NaNoWriMo in the middle of your classes. The best way to make this work is to make your novel take the place of your socializing, because the only other things you can give up are eating, sleeping, and hygiene. Those are not things I recommend sacrificing, but, you know, your mileage may vary.
Also, my novel happens to be science fiction set in ancient Greece, which is definitely a Reedie thing to do.

I have a question for any Reed College student who may know the answer. It's for my story, which takes place locally.
Can you tell me a little bit about the "scrounging" policy at Reed College, where people eat other people's uneaten food? My character has become homeless, and ends up there at one point. Can you give me some idea of what the rules are behind that, how it started, etc.?
Any information you can give me will be helpful, or if there's someone else I can ask about it.
Thank you, and happy writing!
