I had an inspired idea. :) I work at the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, and we have a cafe. The cafe isn't up and running, but there is a space, with tables and chairs. I thought it might be fun to have a write-in there. There are bathrooms, there are snacks available in the gift shop, and we could tour the house of one of America's most beloved writers. (It's a beautiful house, in case you haven't been there!) Right nextdoor is the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, which we could also tour.

If anyone is interested, it would have to be on a Saturday or Sunday, due to my full-time (not Mark Twain) schedule. Feedback? Possible dates? If we get a big group I might be able to get us a discount on tickets.

This is a fantastic idea!! It's a little far for me personally, but I love the thought of it. The Mark Twain house is actually where I found my copy of No Plot, No Problem, which earned me my first scared-glance-from-random-stranger. It's a lovely location, and nicely symbolic.

I'm looking at the weekend of the 14th-15th. I just emailed my supervisors to see if it's possible, so now I have feelers out on both ends. :) I'll post this to the other Connecticut boards as well.

Fabulous and inspired idea Chrissy!

It's a little far for me also, and that weekend I'll have just returned from half-way around the world so I don't doubt I'll be recovering from some hefty jet lag. But definitely go for it--If I'm awake, I'll make the trek (perhaps if some people want to carpool?)

Unfortunately, I already Have Plans for that weekend. Buuut this IS a fantastic idea, and I may "steal" it and go do that on my own some time. Hmmm...a writer's tour of writng locations...Mark Twain, Harriet Beacher Stowe, Eugene O'Neil...

I second the "little far but maybe if we carpool" motion.

Hi,
I absolutely love the idea. I work in that area and weekdays would be better for me, but I'd defiinitely join on some weekends (wheater permitting).

Good luck to everyone and I'll keep an eye on this post.
