Hiya!

Just figured I'd open up another thread about what gets our NaNo-juices going, ingestion-wise.

I know a lot of people live on coffee in November, but I don't drink coffee, so my battery chargers of choice are Mt. Dew, chocolate, and red vines or Twizzlers. I also bake cookies when procrastinating, and eat them when pounding the keys.

What do you take?

ampf there go my attempts to lose weight. magpa-participate pa naman ako in a December wedding.

my poisons of choice are:

food: Cheetos, a lot of plain dark chocolate, probably a weekly round of my everything-but-the-kitchen-sink fried rice dish.

drink: Milk tea!!!

Man, humahaba na ang grocery list ko for the end of the month. XDXDXD

Ah, this was one of the inspirations for my prizes in 2007. :D

Hm, I never really took note of what my poison for November was. I usually have a lot of chocolates in hand...but I never really pay attention to them. But for write-ins, since I usually am at CBTL, I often order a Moroccan Mint Tea Latte. :D

I've been on a diet lately, so I'll make sure to stock up on healthy stuff this time. Like fruits. And veggies. And the occasional chocolates.

Boring, I know. :P

Coffee is the mainstay. Whether it's that dubious 15peso brew in the Agno, or canned Nescafe mocha or a venti mocha, I don't care. It's just got to be coffee.

When I can't get coffee, I drink Coke, or Teazers Chocolate Mood. And eat tons of pancit canton (Ate Tina, I think you know what happens when La Sallians run out of money...)

Speaking of candies~ who was it that said jelly beans are so artificial ants ignore them? My aunt happened to send us some and I told my family about it and my nephew, yup, he left the jelly beans open to see if it's true.

And they got ant'd.

But ants these days must be reeeeeally desperate 'coz my glass of water gets ant'd too. Yep. Water.

Uh. Ignore me. I'm just excited (and plotless!)!=D

^ I'm in the same situation, we have ants crawling about even when there's no food in sight [but not in heaps]. The oldies here say that when this happens, it means another storm is coming. [I personally hope not, because I've had it with the rain -.-''].

Going back on topic. I don't really keep track of what I eat/drink during NaNo season; whatever's available is fine with me. But I do stock up on chocolates, cookies, and peanuts. Chips are okay as long as they don't have MSG in them. I stopped drinking soda 6 years ago and coffee doesn't really do anything for me except sending me to sleep ^^;; So iced tea, orange juice, Chuckie, and water are my alternatives =3

Oooh I just realized. I love Nescafe Ice. I remember drinking that a lot back in college...but I stopped when I drank two of those in the span of six hours and ended up with my hands shaking so much I couldn't type. :))

Haha I know! I remember surviving on siopao back in college. I never got to have pancit canton cooked for me...then again, we always cook it at the dorm. :))

Sugar in any shape, form, or size.:D Chocolates, coffee, cookies, anything that increases my blood sugar to near-diabetes level.:P Gives me tons of energy, but I did freak people out last November.

. . .
one word: "music."

. . .
what can i say, it's the first thing, regardless of how redundant it sounds, that gets into mind; despite intense affinity to coffee, soda, beer, pc games, movies, chocolate, Smith-Corona typewriter sounds. potato chips, and cleaning old Fender Rhodes electric piano parts... though those are excellent choices as well.

i'm quite sure i would've said any of those but, man, how i terribly live, breathe, and drown myself with music.

(probaby the Fender Rhodes gig'd be a pretty close second.)

I, too, don't drink coffee. My list includes Coke, Earl Gray tea, Starbucks' signature chocolate (hot or iced), Wendy's iced tea.

Food: potato salad, choco chip cookies, ice cream (fave flavors: avocado, cheese, double Dutch, green tea, vanilla, blueberry), toast with cream cheese.

Bread. Plain Gardenia bread, no palaman. (Totoo nga yung claim nila na "So good you can even eat it on its own!") I eat the edges, working my way to the middle. Repeat til stuffed.

If only 7-Eleven would continue offering the Blueberry Tea Latte, I'd be drinking that when I work on my novel. Too bad they're phasing it out now.

Definitely coffee. If I'm at home, I'd brew myself a cup or if I'm feeling lazy, I'd just take instant coffee. X) At coffee shops, I usually order iced caramel macchiato or English breakfast tea or just a simple latte.

As for food, I'd munch on Selecta's Gold Series Vanilla Almond (so sinfully good~), whole wheat toast with melted cheese on top, potato chips (V-cut, Piattos, and Oishi's Gourmet Picks), chocolate Pocky, pasta, and lately, I've been craving for lots of kimchi.

  • Tea with milk
  • If I can't have that, Milo with milk
  • Bubblegum (For those who want to lose weight but likes to chew on something anyway, I highly recommend this one.)
  • If I can't have that, I'll go for any brain food (i.e. yes, nuts)
  • Music (Is this a valid answer?)

To stay awake: Coffee, double cream, no sugar. Davao Arabica or Ethiopia Sidamo.

To relax: Tea, Earl Grey. Hot.

Food -
* Chili dogs. Got me a best thesis award back in college, which led to a 6 year stint Teaching in UPLB.
* Bug Ong Chicken (from their outlet at UPLB Gate). Helped me finally finish my Masteral Thesis.

Both also gave me quite a tummy, so I'm sorta thankful neither is readily available to me nowadays. hehe.

I'm trying to cut down on my starch and carb intake so I don't get sleepy.

Drink - Coke Zero or hot chocolate. I'm too lethargic to write unless I've drunk them.
Food - Taco Doritos. Mmm.
