Yes, we have a chat room again!

Feel free to drop in and say hello if we are there, or leave us a nicely worded message if not. The link is posted in the regional header, but you will need to send either Samantha or me a NaNoMail (PM for you savy users) to get the password. We're keeping it semi-private so those sneaky Bellingham Wrimos can't see our nefarious plans for beating their wordcount! Muahahaha..... *cough* er, well, yes. You can find the link by clicking the "Regional Info" tab in the Header (the area our calendar is listed) and looking under "Links", or you can click here: http://bit.ly/45hxVc.

Please remember to register/sign in using your NaNo name so we know who you are. For those of you who haven't used this chat room before, you will need to register with the site first, creating your own password and then sign in to the chat room with the password we give you. Our password is for the chat room only. Once you have registered for the site, a temporary password will be emailed to you. You will need this temporary password to log back in the second time. I recommend checking the box that says "remember me" or "keep me logged in" or something similar.

As always, if you have problems or questions please ask. We'll do our best to give you the right answer. =)

See you around!

EDIT: For those of you who received your writer wallets at the Kick-Off party, you will need to add a 09 (zero nine) at the end of the password printed under the Virtual Write-In info. Sorry for the misprint!

Hi there,

I was just curious where the chat room may be located.

Thanks!

Here it is: http://www.chatzy.com/693073729881

There's a convenient link to the chatroom under the Regional Info tab on the main page of the forum. That's where you'll also find links to the SpokaNaNo Facebook Group, the Google Group and out Twitter feed.

I'll send you a NaNoMail now with the password for the chat room (to be used only after you log into the chat client with your own password that you will need to set up).

Samantha

PS - Everyone needs to be aware that this year, the default notification for private messages (NaNoMail) has been set to off, so unless you log into your mailbox, you have no way of knowing if someone is trying to reach you. Please turn on "aggressive notification" for NaNoMail. Once aggressive notification is turned on, almost every page of the website will have a notice of private message at the top whenever your friends and MLs are trying to reach you.

Go to My NaNoWriMo, User Settings, Edit Account Settings and scroll down to Private message settings. Check both boxes: Allow private messages and Aggressive notification of new messages. Finally, don't forget to scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

The following link is a great site for getting your work critiqued. It doesn't cost anything.

Hrrrmm....maybe because it's late...or maybe I just did too much today...but I can't seem to get into the chat room. I wanted to test drive it. See if I could, you know, before I actually needed to?

...

Turns out, nope. I can't.

Would love some kind assistance. :)

Just a quick reminder that the chat room is always open. In addition to the Tuesday Virtual Write-In, either Dana or I will be logged in during all scheduled write-ins (it may take us a few minutes to get set up and online, but we'll eventually get online).

But if you're looking for some friendly competition, you can log into the chat at any time -- you'll never know who you might find there. If you log on and the room appears empty, leave a message saying when you'll be back, so the next person can plan their schedule.

ARRGGGH!!!

Just tried to get into the chat room, and the passwords are not working (neither the one that emailed to me, or the one I thought I changed it to...sigh)

Help?

First, cut and past the password they sent you. We've learned that trying to type it in doesn't work as well and the sight doesn't like you changing it even though it lets you.
Second, go back to our chat room after you log in and use the room password. look in your nanomail for the new password. =)
Third, if all else fails, find me and I'll help you in person. or call us at 720-7626.

How can I get the password from you to get into the chat room? I haven't attended any write-ins or anything like that seeing as I'm studying in Montana (but 'homed' with Spokane).
