Anyone up for meeting at a café in Leeds over the NaNoWriMo weekends, like last year?

I definately am, since it's probably what got me to the win in the end.

Aye! If I can make it I will, but I often work weekends. Perhaps I'll be able to turn up for a lunch break.

I'll be there at least some of the time. The same cafe as last time? Cafe Latino (hm... not sure if I spelt that right but surely someone will know what I am getting at!)

May need someone to get me unlost on the way back to my Mum when she wants to pick me up though....

Café Latino sounds good to me, I really like it in there, and the staff are tolerant of a hoarde of writers :)

If you're wondering where it is, it's here:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=2+Albion+P...

Would people like to meet on Saturdays, or Sundays? Or even alternating (i.e. Saturday 7th, followed by Sunday 15th, then by Saturday 21st)?

Very up for it this time, though i think the second weekend might not be doable. Shouldn't have any problems with the rest, though.

As a first time nanowrimo-er it would be great to meet some fellow writers! I'm more or less free each weekend in November.

My email address is edwardbaxter2@googlemail.com if anyone wants to make contact in the meantime!

I agree. The meet-ups are my fuel for sucess! I failed last year because I couldn't make any of them. Not of course, because I became lazy.

Sounds good. I did less than half the 50,000 last year and am looking for all the motivators I can get this year. Plus it would be nice to meet up with other people who get the whole nanowrimo thing.

I'm hoping to get there this year - Caffe Latino is my usual haunt during the week on work breaks, so it's good for me :-)

If I'm in Leeds I'll probably show up for a bit on my way through from H'gate to the bf's house :) I'm gonna need a kick up the bum. Losing two nights in a row to gigs towards end of the month :S

I reckon Saturday 7th November, unless no ones free.

Does anybody need help getting there?

Anyone want to meet tomorrow for a bit of a kick-off writing day? I've just worked ten days straight and I reckon a day of cafe writing will perk me up. Heck, even if no-one else turns up at the Cafe Latino (NOT the one on the Headrow! The other one! Last year's!) I'll probably go because I find writing in public an amazing motivator.

I prefer Sundays anyway; quieter and I often travel on Saturdays. And the shop's electrical socket will be free.

Just to let you know that cafe latino has shut, and there is now only the one of the headrow

and to those who used to go - and obviously enjoyed it - thank you, as the boss (blonde haired slim girl, kerri) is my daughter

she is now temporarily at the headrow one, as are some of the old staff, but it doesnt have the same friendly feel to it that the old one had - yes of course i am utterly proudly biased - but shes working on it, and people would be very welcome

and yes, i will be there too depending on when

Sorry to hear about the Café Latino at Albion Place shutting, I tend to avoid the city centre most days, so I missed that happening. Shame was a really nice place.

SulkyCat, do you know if the one on the Headrow has a power supply that people can use? I'm happy to congregate there, especially if some of the staff have moved there - they are lovely tolerant people, and they helped make writing a pleasure.

So here's the provisional plan for next week then, on Saturday we meet at lunch time, and we get on with some chatting, and writing. I'll be there from 12, and I'll put something out that will make it easy to spot us. I'll ask Magenta if she'll add it to the calendar.

Thanks for letting us know sulkycat, if you're there when we are, pop over and say hi :)

Hi Kitty, I'm up for some writing tomorrow (anything to help me hit my first 10,000 words) - though looks like it'll have to be the Headrow, I've not been in it before so should be interesting.

Great! Want to meet 12 or 1-ish or so? I'm writing by hand this year, which should be interesting. More versatile, but less good for research...

Probably 1ish, give myself chance to wake up, since I'm just starting to get a roll on writing wise (aren't opening days marvellous?).

I'm going to have to bring my big laptop, but have pen and paper as back up (I kind of broke my little laptop which I usually use for writing, oops).

Well I'm going to be moving up to Liversedge from Nottingham so it'll be a total relocation for me. I'd definitely be up for meeting fellow writers and possibly make a few friends too. So let me know!

i think there is only one spare socket at the headrow cafe

i will try to pop in but tend to avoid the city centre like the plague on saturdays - i am small, always in black and have deep purple hair / bright pink, depending on my mood

kerri, martin (tall guy) and may have all moved up to the headrow branch (the man who owned the lease on the albion one went bust over night, hence the shop vanishing so quickly - ironically it was one of the most successful branches they have)

my names julia, i am blind as a bat / in a world of my own, so do please nudge me if i walk straight past anyone!

Hello, I'm absolutely rubbish when it comes to directions. Is this the cafe next to the Halifax bank?

elaineemily, it is just next to it, on the side facing the St John's Centre (now seemingly pointless renamed "The Core").

Would anyone have any problems if we arranged the meets for Sundays? I know a few people would find this an easier date to get to.

Not that there's anything wrong going on a Saturday if you can't make Sundays, I will probably be there both days of the weekend, I'm going to need much tea, and a comfortable environment to write in as much as possible if I'm going to hit my targets.

Hello one and all, so are people going to meet this weekend? This is my first Leeds-based nanowrimo so I have no idea where anything is.
