Hi, my fantastic Red Hots!
Every year, there are plenty of our writers who have transportation issues from time to time. Sometimes they can ask for rides, and sometimes they don't know who to ask and so they don't.
This thread is a place for:
- People who need rides, to post what writein they want to make, and their location for pickup and dropoff
- People who can give rides, to post what writeins they can give rides to, and how far they can go for picking up and dropping off
DISCLAIMER:
We, your MLs, are not responsible for any of you agreeing to help with gas, or not helping with gas. That is completely between the ride-offerer and the ride-needer. So make sure you have that conversation up front so that nobody is left feeling taken advantage of!

If you need a ride, post it here. If you can give a ride, post it here.
Please make sure you post what ways you can be contacted about it!
Once you find someone to connect with, use their contact info and see if a ride can be arranged.
FINAL WORD:
If rides don't work out and you end up not being able to make a writein, don't feel bad. I've been the ML for three years now and I've missed way more writeins than I wanted to; it's not the end of the world! This is also one of the reasons we will have virtual writeins using our awesome new chat room.
Feel free to Nanomail either Cylithria or myself if you need to. We may or may not feed your email to the Red Hot Nano Monster. ;)

A ride would be great for my son and I. We live in Flint, near the cultural center (for now), and don't have a car. We'll try to take the bus to as many of the write-ins as possible. Panera and Borders are both on bus lines, but some of the other locations aren't.

I may not make most of the write-ins, but the Kick-off, "Night Of" and TGIO's, I will be attending. I live in Clarkston (south I-75 - exit 89) so if you need a ride and you're south of Flint (Burton, G.B., Holly) let me know.

If anybody south of "Borders Books / G.V.M." needs a ride, I will be on I-75 in Clarkston around 11:25.

I would absolutely love to go to the write in, in Pinconning and have no problem helping with gas if someone would be nice enough to give me a ride.

This applies especially to the write-in on Sunday November 22nd, in the afternoon and the evening. I can't stay all night, but will stay at least to 9 or maybe 10.
I can pick up people on the way north and/or drop off on the way back south. Not too much room in a Saturn, but enough for three plus laptops. Leave a phone number in my NaNo in-box before noon Sunday the 22nd. That leaves time to work out details. I can convinced to drop off / pick up more writers at the 7:00 to 8:00 break.
