As in, "York University people". >.>
I know that there have to be more of us than just Serenity, Sweetkaiser, and myself! I met a couple of you last year in the one writing session we had in Scott Library, but I don't think it happened again...
So! What I'm planning is... I dunno, maybe weekly writing sessions, at Scott Library? Or somewhere else, if we can find somewhere? I dunno, I don't really have any other suggestions, haha.
Well, there's also Calumet's JCR/Room 100, since I'm on Calumet College Council - so far as I know, I can open the doors to Rm. 100 at any time of the day or night, so long as I stay in the room (or there's at least one council member, blah blah blah), so we could even feasibly have a mini-overnighter if people want to, haha.
Start throwing some ideas out there! Or just pop in and say hi. =]

I read the introductions thread, so I know there's more than just the three of us.
I'm totally up for writing sessions at York (especially if they coincide with my school schedule).
Also: "mini-overnighter" ... Now that you've put this idea in my head, it will never go away. I think it's mandatory now. START PLANNING.

Urgh...apparently no one over at U of T giving a flying donkey's backside about NaNo cause my thread is empty....so I'm going to haunt the YU thread instead....
Hey if there are more people who end up introducing themselves are are up for it, what do you guys think of a mini wordwar between U of T and York? I think it'd be fun and maybe bring more people together and whatnot!

Member of the York U Crew, reporting in!
I'm Colin, and I'm hip to writing sessions on campus. I'll be languishing about Tuesday afternoons between classes, so I expect to spend November's Tuesdays writing all that I can.
Looking forward to next month!

I am a York U person.
I am only on campus on Mondays and Tuesdays but I will definitely be following along in case there are events I can come out to.

I didn't know Ashaberry was at York! wheeeeee!
I need more York friends, so I am fully down for any writing sessions. Also, UofT versus YU sounds like the ultimate showdown...of ultimate destiny!!

I'm here again, I'm not technically taking any classes, but still officially a York student. At least until York stops being a bunch of jerks.

Yorkians! There are other Yorkians out there! I looked at the official calendar and thought "Aww, there's all these sessions at UofT. Does nobody at York do Nano?"
Now I know better. =)
Anyway, I'd love to meet more NaNoYU writers. Previous NaNos I've done the hermit thing (and proceeded to go crazy by the end of Week 3 every time), but a bunch of us from one of my English classes are trying to start up a Creative Writing Club at York (we have a Creative Writing program at York, but we don't have a club for it. How sad is that?) and I've discovered it's actually awesomely fun to write with other people.
So that's basically why I decided to do NaNo despite my workload this year. Screw the word count! I wanna have fun with people who love to tell stories as much (or even more!) than I do! =)
That said I'll bring NaNo up at our next club writing session on Wednesday (if anybody's interested in joining us, message me and I'll give you the place and time), but I don't think we'll be transforming those club sessions into pure all-NaNo sessions for November. Would be rude to the (sane) people who wanna do the creative writing without the NaNo.
Anyways, as for my schedule for 100%-pure NaNo-writing sessions, I'm good any time Monday and Friday, on Tuesday and Thursday it would depend what time 'cuz I'd have to squeeze it between classes, and my Wednesdays are completely toast.
Though if we're challenging the UofT to a wordwar, I'd like to catch the write-in at U of T on Mondays, just so I can taunt the NaNoUTs. ;p (Or they can taunt me. Whatever works. XD )

Hello YU PEOPLE! Wow, that sounded rude, let me rephraise that; Hello fellow Yorkies!
I don't know why I decided to torture myself again doing NaNo, but I signed up! I did this last year, and it was much easier since we had out 3 months "vacation" however, being a hermit-writer, it drove me crazy and I never finished. Hopefully this year will be different. Oh, and I don't even have a plot idea yet ,plus midterms & assignments are coming so I'm sort of freaked out even though NaNo hasn't officially started yet, but that's okay because it's part of the fun. Anyways, I'm just rambling on, keep me updated if we're meeting up for writing sessions. =)

I'm a YU people! On campus every day with lots of time to kick around, especially Tuesdays, and I'm totally in.
I'm kind of freaking out about how much is due in November, since this is my first year back at school and November used to be really slow at work, so if anyone's got any advice on how to handle the dogpile of deadlines, I'm all ears.

No, not "fish" people. Also not rain people. =b And yes, I've always been shadwood, haha.
And I think a Word War between UT and YU sounds like a plan, Morbid! =D YOU'RE ON!
That having been said, I think the most commonly-mentioned day that people are free is Tuesdays. So... if you wouldn't mind, let me know what time is best for you on Tuesday: noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm. And if there's any of those times that you can't make it. And then, based on the responses by Friday or so, I'll poke and prod oilsdragon to put our weekly writing sessions up there, too! =D
And I dunno about you guys, but the strike really hurt my NaNoing last year, instead of helping, to be honest. Tons of free time meant I kind of went "oh, I'll do it later".

I'm good Tuesdays anytime between 2:30pm - 6:30pm. (Got a class at 7pm, so I'll need a break in their to grab something to eat before class.)
So 4pm is probably best for me personally, but if nobody minds me showing up 30 min late, 2pm is cool too.

Heya all!
I'm here too.
Unfortunately, I work on my break on Tues, and it's the only day I have class.
I can be on campus Wed/Thurs, too, so just give me advance warning. :)
I might be able to get us a space. I can't say anything else until I check, but I can ask today.
As for other good spots, the basement of Frost Library (Glendon) tends to be really quiet. It's a commute, for those of us on Keele Campus, but I did it a couple of times last year with Etak (I don't know if she's writing again this year.)
So yeah. . .
Sounds good!

So, in addendum to that:
We can use the Access Centre (429 Student Centre) if we want, after 6pm.
We'd have to be out before midnight, but we can use it. I'll have to let people in, but that's no big deal. You just can't break anything. :-P
I checked, and the co-ordinator is fine with this. I'm a volunteer there, so. . .
We'd even have access to the two computers, if people need them.
So, post or drop me a PM, as to what night of the week works the best, and we can go from there, if people want.

Hello Yorkies!!
I just thought I'd say hello, since I've recently left the Jungle and moved as FAR away as possible (ie. London England!)
Last year, for my last year at that place, really WOULD have been a good year to start Nano... except that I was assuming we would have CLASSES during November, so I didn't.
Good luck to you, and good luck finding a quiet place to do some nanomeets! If there's only a few of you and you were ok without having too many plug-ins, I'd recommend the Ab cause it's just awesome. Only thing I miss from York!

Okay, so based on what people have posted here, let's make it...
Tuesdays 1:30-3:30 at Scott Library will be the official unofficial (for now) York U writing sessions. 'Cause that seems to work the best for the largest number of people. =b
We'll likely take over one of the larger tables in the main study/whatever area. I'll look into booking a study room, as well. But this will start next Tuesday, so come! I'll go in at some point this weekend and look into booking a room and wil post here if something changes, but if you're having any troubles, text my cellphone (8053245, with a 416 area code). I'd prefer texting to calling, since texting doesn't cost me any money. =b
See you all Tuesday!

Hey guys, I'm a newbie Yorker and a newbie Nano-er...
SO, I thought I'd introduce myself and see what happens. :)
I don't know how to find you guys at the library so I think I'll post this now and try to link up for the writing session next week?
I can't wait to meet you all, despite the fact that I'm already dreading this word count business and this appears to be another form of masochism that I am partaking in in order to fully screw over my gpa. :)
Let me know, kids!
