Hey :) I was just wondering if there are...... scratch that, I KNOW there are other Greeks around here, so I just want to meet you all! Loud and proud and showing that sorority women and fraternity men are not just the ridiculous stereotype of mindless idiots :)

I'm an alumna sister of Phi Sigma Sigma (Epsilon Theta Chapter) - a dynamic sisterhood of powerful women fostering uncompromising principles, igniting positive change, and embracing individuality <3 I was initiated back in 2005 and I couldn't be happier with my choice! I definitely wasn't what people would consider as a "sorority girl" - but once I was initiated, my entire university knew me as the face of my organization since I was quite literally everywhere and constantly involved. College wouldn't have been the same without Phi Sig :)

What about you guys??

I'm an alumni member of Gamma Sigma Sigma, the national service sorority. I never thought of myself as a sorority girl either, but when I found Gamma Sig, and realized they weren't a party sorority, I joined right up. I pledged in Spring '07, and I'm glad I picked Gamma Sig! We've done a lot to help out our community- we raise money for lots of different charities, we volunteer at local animal shelters, and we do Relay for Life every year - and that's just scratching the surface of what we did when I was a member! Ahh, I miss Gamma Sig.

2009 will be the year I finish- I can feel it.

Alpha Kappa Psi/AKPsi - co-ed business fraternity alumna. Yes, a girl in a fraternity, that's what co-ed means! ;) I had fun and learned so much - about the American college culture, about business etiquette in America, about my major (because we had study groups and helped each other with schoolwork), and also about myself.

Sigma Alpha Iota here, women's music. I was just talking about SAI with someone the other day. I do have a lot of fond memories, especially of bid nights and going around to sing the chorale to each girl as we gave her the bid. Love and roses!

Ahh winterbloom! I'm in SAI too! I'm an alumna of Gamma Theta - Tau C Province. Explaining a women's music fraternity (yes, fraternity) is always difficult, but it's definitely worth it.

My fiance is a Sinfonian (Phi Mu Alpha), & though he doesn't NaNo I thought it would be fun to see if there were any other Sinfonians around too.

Hype, I was Sigma Omega in Chi A Province. Small world, eh? I've met other SAIs in the strangest places. The bathroom at the Natural History Museum in DC was the weirdest. An older lady introduced herself to me because I was wearing an SAI hat. :)

I'm a member of the Elks fraternity - but I'm certain now that you're just concerned with Greek life from college. But still - thought I'd say hi.

Hello Greek brothers and sisters! I joined Zeta Tau Alpha at the Eta Lambda chapter (College of Charleston) in 1999. I am now a District President, which is a national officer position. Basically, I'm in charge of all the alumnae chapters in South Carolina, and I plan our annual state convention, attended by over 700 Zetas.

Glad to see lots of Greek NaNos!

Delta Delta Delta alumna here-- Alpha Tau chapter :)

So happy to see fellow greeks around! I too was not a "typical sorority girl," but then again, neither were most of the other women (and men!) in the greek system at my school. Huzzah for breaking stereotypes

Namewise I think my co-ed fraternity has more to do with the Roman Empire than with Greeks, but I guess that's what you get for not being an American. :P We're a relatively small individualistic kind of fraternity where all kinds of people can just enjoy themselves and revel in one another's uniqueness. To illustrate, I'm thinking of applying for the committee of the N3rd-dispute. Yay for equal values!

I was an Alpha Xi Delta, proudly... until I ran out of money and health and had to stop going to university. I am not a stereotypical sorority girl, but neither were half of my sisters. It provided a lot of good times, lasting relationships, and honestly kept my sanity for a while. I will always be an AXiD in my heart!

Hi,
I'm in 'Medica', which is the Belgian fraternity/sorority (I have no idea what the unisex kind is called) for people studying to be a doctor or biomedical researcher in Leuven.

And proud to be in it :-). I'm writing for our little paper, coaching the volleyball team and overall having a good time.

And I am pretty sure the 'mindless idiot' stereotype doesn't really exist in Belgium :-).

Anyone else from Leuven?

I'm an alum sister of Sigma Kappa (Beta Mu chapter). I loved being part of a sorority in college and eventually I've got to look up my local alum chapter. Just waiting to settle into real life first. :)

Hello Winterbloom and Hype!

I'm also an Sigma Alpha Iota alumna! I hail from the Beta Gamma chapter in Upsilon A. I don't meet a lot of SAI folks since moving to the left coast, so it's awesome to see several of us here.
