Being the geek that I am, this has always been one of my favorite questions. What software/writing instrument/method are you going to use in November? Will you write your novel by hand? Use MS Word? Or use one of those novel-writing software that are available online? Will you dictate it to a recorder? Upload it to the web or some space? Blog? Do share! (And if you have links to resources, do share too!)
I'm using three devices to write my novel, depending on where I am.
1. Aslan the Macbook
- to be used when at home or at write-ins
- Software: Scrivener (There's a special NaNoWriMo promo for Scrivener: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/nanowrimo.html :D)
2. Teo, the office laptop
- to be used when I'm at work (of course I'll sneak noveling time at work! :p)
- Q10 when I'm not multitasking or when I'm on a break
- MS Word or Notepad when I'm multitasking :D
3. Macy, the iPod Touch
- to be used when I'm on the go
- Writeroom for actual writing
- default Notes app for note taking
* which reminds me, I should update my software, so I can have cut+copy+paste
For backing up and such, I'll be using my ever reliable Gmail, and my flash disk (Ginger). I'll also probably blog about what I'm doing too, because...well, my blog needs entries. :D
What about you?

I use Pages, not Word. You get to see the word count right there at the bottom, instead of having to go to the Tools menu every time :D
Something I found really useful-- I saw and downloaded the 2008 Report Card that has this fantastic graph that charts progress. Very motivating. I modified it for my 2009 pre-nano. Don't remember where I got it from and whether they already have the 2009 version. If anyone knows, pa-post nalang ng link. Otherwise, I can upload the one that I have (although I might have changed some of the formulas).

Haha, my blog needs entries too. So neglected ;;
Things I'll be using!
♠ Hasanir, my desktop: TeXnicCenter and OpenOffice for typing and typesetting; ActionOutline for outlines
♠ Jehadar, my Palm: Documents to Go (for brief snippets)
(Both of these are named after characters from last year's Nano. Hasanir's the older brother, Jehadar's the younger one. I always laugh whenever I'm syncing my computer and my phone.)
♠ Aleth, my netbook: TeXnicCenter and OpenOffice for typing and typesetting; ActionOutline for outlines
♠ and:
A notebook, of course :3

All significant writing and whatever storyboarding (that is, drafts to the rest of the sane people) will be on Teh Lappie, my old beat-up Toshiba laptop that's been relegated to the status of portable CPU on account of a broken monitor and trackpad.
Actual writing will be done via Open-bloody-Office, since I don't see any pressing need to switch to Word in the foreseeable future. Storyboards on the little bugger will be via Notepad.
In case ideas should strike me while I'm away from Teh Lappie, such ideas will be written either on Spidey or GL, whichever comes to mind first. Both are notebooks, one of which has Spiderman on the cover, the other being grrrreeeeeeen.

I wanted to try Scrivener but I don't have a Mac, so... D:
I downloaded a few softwares:
WriteWay, SuperNoteCard, Celtx, PageFour, and Evernote. Evernote is fun to use in research and noting down little details about the novel. I might use Celtx for writing the novel itself, but SuperNoteCard is really good too. :)14,582 / 50,000

Hmm... My keitai (mobile phone) and its T9 input. I'm too lazy at times to go and type away so if I've got a gist of something, I fumble with the keypad right away. I'll just send it via email or save it and pull it up via the PC later. And weird, I still prefer the traditional pen(cil) and paper approach. My mechanical pencil is just so great I could love it for all of my life. Lol. Nah. It's just great. I prefer tedious work compared to sitting around the whole day.

I downloaded that software up there (at least I think it's that software) but I might end up using oo.o. Last year, I used Notepad entirely to write my NaNo because of the HTML codings I add for formatting purposes (and for posting online) and migrated it to MS Word -- but that was before I learned the significant difference between " " and “ ”. Now that I know it, I think I'll be a little more careful and mindful.

. . .
like Groo the Wanderer, save for a pair of katanas, i'll use:
. ..
1. my 3-yr. old computer with typewriter sounds turned on
2. an old transistor radio (in the guise of an almost-packed iPod)
3. a pair of Grado SR-80i headphones (looks old but sounds insane!)
4. and a brain the size of a pea. (like the one i have.)

Notebooks. Because I am a sucker for them and I do almost all of my brainstorming/drafting/profiling in them. For this year, i may have to use two; one for profiling, the other for drafting.
My ever-beloved PC. Because that's where the second draft [to gradually transform into the finalized product] goes.
Softwares I might end up using are MS Word and Liquid Story Binder. I'm a first timer with the latter but I got to toy with it a week ago and found it pretty spiffy =3 Other things I might end up using will be my phones, especially when I don't have my notebooks with me and inspiration strikes while I'm on the run.

I'm using a notebook, a fountain pen, and a Macbook (aluminum unibody) with Scrivener.
I also recommend yWriter (it's free! It's excellently designed!), which I used for several years before I got the Mac. Sad there's no Mac version available though. From what I've read, StoryMill is the closest program that works like yWriter, but I still prefer yWriter's no-frills user interface. Of course mileages may vary, and Scrivener's served me well for the past year!

Buti pa sila, may mga laptop. XD
Right now, all story-related notes are scattered around my moleskine-type notebook and a fresh tablet of long pad.
Pero when it comes to writing time I will have no choice but to write to the cloud. Google Docs. I have two desktops to work from: the one at home, and the one at the office. If I have a eureka moment while traveling, balik sa old-school pen and paper.

I'll be using Reichen / Raych, my beloved laptop, and its awesome MS Word 2007 (okay I know it's not that awesome). I'll also be using boredom while in the province and my not-so-nutsized imagination.
Lol, kidding. But basically, it's going to be my laptop, my not-so-creative brain, my spare November time, and my time in the province. :))

Most of my writing will be on Sidney (Alphasmart Neo 2) which has a word count feature. As such, I'll only be using my laptop just to upload to the web. No editing even for spell check.
For backup, GoogleDocs. I keep forgetting to buy a flash drive.
I think I'll need to buy another notebook just for Nano. My writing journal is a jumbled mess from the plot outlines of three stories, research, stuff I picked up somewhere, etc. An excuse to try out moleskines! XD

I tend to write longhand using either a Panda ballpen (or any pen of the same stature) in the evenings. Then on the mornings I type them on my laptop (no matter what people say, Asus EEEE is godlike) and edit out words and phrases at the same time. I find that I get my best ideas at night, and tend to get very critical in the morning (especially if I don't have my daily dose of coffee) coupled with screaming obscenties at my supposedly 'best' ideas ... but that's just me, hehehe.

I'm gonna be using my Asus EEE PC, Puck; my home PC, Argos; and (when I can sneak it), my work PC. Probably in that order. I hate my work PC cause it's slow and on XP (my home and EEE PCs are on Windows 7).
Also, notebooks for horrible mapping and other notes.
I'll be using MS Word to write, but MS Excel for tracking my outlines, character names/traits, and writing progress.

I keep forgetting to try Scrievener (hope I spelled it right.) XD
I'll be using Lumi the Macbook Pro, who is my main desktop as well. Will be using Pages if ever, or... uh... TextEdit. HAHAHA I'm still getting used to this Mac business. I have no idea if I can borrow my mom's ASUS EEE PC for write-ins and such as it seems to be busted right now...
Of course, there's always a handy dandy notebook. I might start using this super pretty notebook I got from one of those gift places that I was intending to save for when I take up Creative Writing after I graduate from Fine Arts. :D (Pretty pens, you now have a purpose!)

i'll be using Barney--my toshiba laptop--most of the time. For the software, i'm using Liquid Story Binder XE. It was the best among the novelling programs i've tried. Plus, the program is actually pretty small, I have it on Marshall--my flash disk--together with my backup files. So i can actually just plug it in on any available computer and i'm ready to work.

1. Freemind -- mindmapping software to organize my novel.
2. Liquid Story Binder XE -- it's free for 30 days. Good enough for Nano. It organizes chapters and what not and you can make a .doc manuscript complete with Table of Contents. Get it here: http://www.blackobelisksoftware.com/
3. AbiWord -- open source word processing software of choice.

MS Works Word Processor is what I am going to use. It came with my laptop and I like it better than MS Word. Probably because of my minimalistic mind.
If I am not in the mood for typing, I would probably dictate it on my voice recorder.

I'm using the following mainly as my tools:
1. Macbook, software: Word for Mac or Pages (but I removed the word count because it actually distracts me hehe)
2. Notebook and pen - when I'm not in front of the laptop, great for jotting down ideas while I'm on the go.
3. Google docs: for when I'm using any computer.
The notebook is really invaluable. I use it often when I'm commuting (LRT naman, so it isn't hard for me to write).

I'll be using a computer at home.
Last year, I used darkroom.
http://they.misled.us/dark-room
But now the freeware writing program writemonkey will be helping me for distraction free writing!
http://writemonkey.com/
I'm also going to use a whiteboard when I'm at home. I'll be writing the plot threads there so that I can erase and rewrite it with ease.
Notebooks. Slightly used notebooks. I'll be writing on their unused back pages.
My mobile phone's Notes program will be used in case no writing medium is available. Or if I'm on the go.
As for backups, I'll be sending it to my other emails just in case.
