My husband and I are in Roanoke. This will be my second year for NaNoWriMo, and his first year.

Celebrate a victory? Well... I've never actually finished. I always end up crapping out after the first 10k words. But I will gladly celebrate the end!

I'm in Salem, which is close enough to Roanoke obviously. I haven't won since 2005 and didn't even write last year, but this year I'm coming back with a newfound determination....as long as I can manage to write everything I need to when I'm not working...which won't be often.

Hey! I'm at Hollins University. A group of us will be meeting here every Sunday afternoon, but I'm sure we could arrange trips to MMTC as well. That'd be fun!

I'm in the Noke. I've been doing this since 05, but totally crapped out last year. I would love to meet, but life and kids may keep me from it. There used to be a group that met at the library out on Peter's Creek road. It was nice, there was a little room to meet and places to sit and write before and after. I've also never won and usually give up after about 10K. I'm finishing this year...have more plotting and research done than ever!

Well, I said Sunday @ MMTC on Campbell on Oct 1st, but Hollins is actually waayyyy closer to me. Would it be possible for all of us to meet at HU or no?

Okay, NaNoWriMoors NaNoWriMoos NaNoWriMoans in and about the Noke. Let's have a meet at Mill Mountain Coffee & Tee, on Campbell, at noon. That's Noon 1 Nov @ Downtown MMCT. I will have a viking helmet, like on the NaNoWriMo crest. I hope to have done my 1666.67 words, but come on, Halloween's on a Saturday night, so I might get a late start -- like at MMCT, clutching my coffee.

I signed up last year, but RL got in the way, and I didn't write anything except a paper for class. I want to do it this year - I really need to be able to say that I have written a novel before the age of 40! I will try to be there @MMTC Saturday - hope to see everyone there.

Hi everyone. Joining in late. This is my second year attempting NaNoWriMo. I didn't even make it past the second week last year. :( But I, too, have found some extra motivation this year. When and where on campus does the Hollins University group meet on Sundays? Any groups meeting 2pm or later on Sunday?

Hi, neighbors. This is my first year for NaNoWriMo. Hopefully this will motivate me to put words on the page. I started a novel about 5 months ago, but then work got in the way. I'm planning to start over from scratch.

Hollins is meeting 3-5p.m. on Sundays in the Rat (downstairs Moody building - I can give directions if you need them). Place is subject to change - not many people turned up at the meeting to decide. But for this Sunday it'll be there, anyway, and I can keep you updated. =D

I can't get to either the downtown or Hollins meetups tomorrow because I have to spend part of my day helping a friend with her house in Floyd, but I'll try to get to any future ones that aren't when I'm working or anything.

I'm near noke, Id be interested in meeting some writers from around here this is my first year and I have yet to start :p

I'm at Hollins as well, so I'll be coming to as many of the Hollins groups as I can. I can't go to any off campus though.

I'm in Roanoke. This is my first year. I'm starting to think we should have our own regional group. If Lynchburg is large enough to have one, surely Roanoke is.

I work a full time job plus own a retail store in downtown, (mostly my wife's project) but fortunately it's just out the back door of MMCT (Native Grace Fair Trade Retail and Teas on Church). I may occasionally be able to break free to get to the MMCT and would like to think I could drift up to Hollins at least once during the process. Joined last year, still have most of that manuscript and dream of finishing the overall concept. This year started from scratch and just kind of doing an experiment in "where the heck might this go?" kind of self tutoring. Follow the Annie Dillard school of writing, so visiting Hollins would be cool. My word count? 0 . Thought count? 50K +
