Hey guys!
Looking at my calendar I realize Monday's are going to be sort of a big push day for me, just with how everything falls. I'm starting to plan on writing at a few locations to get myself out of my apartment! I work at 114 & O'Connor, so the Macarthur strip is close by with places like La'Madeline and Corner Bakery that are always nice to go write at. I live around 183 & Beltline, so there's the mall area close by as well as some okay places to write. I'm also willing to have people over if that just works out best (I do have 2 Chinchillas so if you have allergies that's something to know before!).
November 2nd is my monthly book club so if someone wanted to get together on that Monday I could probably only do an hour or two before I left to go there. If you're female and want to go with me, you are more than welcome to! It's an all girl group, multi-generational (youngest is around 20, oldest is in her 70's), but it did start out of a church group. Our latest book to discuss is the Friday Night Knitting Club and if I get my book back I'm going to attempt to make some of Dakota's muffins!
This isn't anything formal yet, I just wanted to throw out the idea and see if there was anyone in my area who would want to get together then. If there's a lot of interest I'll see about poking the ML's to put something on the calendar, but for now it's just an idea!

How funny! I work off of 114 and O'Connor as well! I live in Carrollton and work in Las Colinas. If you want, we can definately plan on getting together to write. I would love that!
Not sure about the book club as I don't want to overload myself this month. I may be interested after NaNo is over, though.
What time do you get off work? My usual schedule is 8 to 5, but if you get off at 4, I can work 7 to 4 those days as my work is pretty flexible.

Awesome!
I get off at 4:30 - but it usually takes me a little bit to get everything shut down and push people out of my office (which is also the lobby :P ) so I actually leave anywhere from 4:30 - 5pm.

Last year we had weekly write-in at that La Madeleine. I might be tempted to join you if y'all decide to meet there...

So do I! I've learned how to eat there on a budget, too, so I'm all for a write-night at LM. :)
Note: write-night: rhymes with fright night, and sufferers of writer's block will find the two terms equally ...frightening!

Oh gee! I'm going to run in fear of that right now.... O__O
Well November 2nd my bookclube starts at 7pm and apparently they've moved it to Watuga/Watagua - I can't spell it! I could meet up for a while, but not terribly long. The other Mondays are good for meeting up and writing tho!

I just wanted to ressurect this thread to say that I'm still game and excited to share the madness of NaNo with someone else this year. I have a foreboding that I won't make the 50k wordcount, but I'm hoping that's just the jitters.
So as you can see, I'm going to need all the support I can get!! :)

That's fine :) I've been sort of sickly for the last few days as a few people can now attest to (I need to remember how much medicine I take and when...yeah, sort of forgot the when part and took too much.) Then lets plan for this upcoming Monday, I'll probably be there close to 5ish and will probably go straight to the back and set up. I'll stay probably until 6:30 and then take off for the book club. Other Monday's I'll be able to stay much later though!

Awesome! I'll have to leave at 6:30. Anyone staying later? We can leave it as is.

I don't wanna be a pain - but when this was added to the calendar it was added to November 1st instead of the 2nd. I know that *might* cause some confusion if there is someone just browsing the calendar for something to do.

I'm just updating this so that people see it and remember that we're still meeting tomorrow at the La Madeline off of 114 and Macarthur. I will be there about 5pm and will stay until roughly 6pm when I need to head off for my monthly Book Club. I'll be in the very, very back and probably wearing my NaNo shirt as I totally plan on changing before arriving.

I'm gonna see about going. I'd like to, but also want to see what my wife's plan for the night is. Failing this, I'll be at the Flying Saucer since there seems to be a write-in scheduled for that location as well.

Awesome! I printed out a small NaNoWriMo badge to put on the little sign holders so I'm super easily identifiable - if you don't already know who I am or what I look like :) Heading out now! Can't take the anticipation of writing more!!!!!!

Oh, are there outlets there that we can use? That's sorta important for me.

After taking a look at the traffic in front of me, I opted to turn around and head home. I might try to get to the next one out there by leaving a little earlier.
Instead, I will be at the Flying Saucer for tonight's write-in. Sorry to the La madeleine folks for bailing.

Hey - stuff happens!
Three of us met and wrote until about 6:30 and then had to head out. Next week I fully intend on camping out for the evening. There are a few outlets in the back area and I have a splitter and extension cord I can bring. I checked with the manager and the reserve-able room is full the rest of the month on Mondays. I could get on the wireless, but couldn't access the NaNo site, but I could at least get on Trillian and TweetDeck which were all the distractions I wanted, LoL.
I look forward to seeing anyone wanting to come out next week!
