So there's a part of being an ML that I really hate. I'm supposed to encourage you all to donate to the folks that run NaNoWriMo, as they do nice things like provide server space for us to have this forum and give your MLs the stickers that you get at write-ins. Also, they believe in libraries, which is totally awesome because I happen to think that libraries are important.
That said, I get weird about asking for money, even more since I'm not really in a position to donate anything at all. (Heck, I barely have enough to get my t-shirt.)
That said, I think I've come up with a solution. They're selling piggy banks at Winco, and I figure I'll buy one to serve as our NaNo pig. He'll come with me to all the write-ins I attend (as well as at the Meet and Greet, Kickoff, and TGIO), and if you all won't mind tossing any spare change into Piggy, then this is what I propose we'll do:
The first $12 (or whatever a domain name costs; I'll talk to my sysadmin) will go for paying for the SacNano domain name. Any money above and beyond that I plan to donate to the folks who run NaNo, as a donation from the region.
So, over the course of the month, if you have any spare change you can afford to toss into Piggy, I'd really appreciate it.
Also, the pig will need a name. I throw it upon the creativity of Sacramento (and maybe even our friends from Finland) to come up with a name. ;)

(Hmm. There is something wrong, why I was spying your forum in the middle of night when I ought to be sleeping, hmmm?! But maybe I have to sacrifice my night's sleep for spying, because I need to do something in this war, and it looks like I won't be very dangerous opponent in November - yeah, we decided we Finns would write out novels in November even if NaNoWriMo is officially in December as you nicely reminded us! - because I am apparently going to UK in the middle of November, and that's going to be bad for my word count. Well, at least we are not at war with THEM. :p)
You should name the pig Possu (a pig in Finnish). Or Säästöpossu (a piggy bank in Finnish). (Creativity?! What are you talking about?! Calling a pig Pig is sure very creative! And my brains went to sleep a few hours ago already.)
If it has a Finnish name, it will surely be on our side and spy for us. ;)

This sounds actually very goos. I almost hope that I could came to one of your meetings, but that would propably cost more money that I can spare. :P
Hey, that's clever! We can't be on their meetings, but mr (mrs?) Possu (well, it's easier to say. :D) will be amongst them all the time. *smirks evilly*
And no, it's not middle of the night (anymore, it's actually ten to four in the morning) and no, I'm not using my time to spy 'round your forums. I'm here by accident, I swear! (Besides, I'm still Swedish, so no worries even if I'd be here at this hour.)

How is the Finnish word for Pig pronounced exactly?
My vote is for Omir W. Onan (Omi for short. Omi the Possu?)

Kermit Jr. ?
Nah, I like it being named in Finnish in ironic honor of the country of Finland WHOM WE WILL CRUSH! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh, sorry.
*ahem*
Just to add a bit of the exotic. And good sportsmanship. And all that, uh, stuff.

Well "Merkkioivallus" in Finnish means "character realization" and "Kirjoittaa" means to write. I like the Finnish name idea. "Sika" is pig. ^_^ And "Kuole sika" mans die pig... so.... "Kuole-sika"! "Häviäjä" also means loser. Ok, back to school work now haha.
