Does anyone have an idea of where some write-ins in the inner west could happen? I don't think I can make it to the Writers Centre on Sundays, or Macquarie Uni on Wednesdays, but I'd still like to do a write-in, and there seems to be a few of us around here. Sydney Uni or UTS might work, or somewhere like Berkelows? They have some meetings etc in their cafe.

Also, did I miss the kick-off party?? I can't seem to find a post saying where/when it was!!

No, you haven't missed the Kick-Off Party.

It takes place Sunday 25 October 1pm-6pm at the NSW Writers' Centre, Rozelle - http://www.nswwriterscentre.org.au/html/s12_content/default.asp?tnid=14&...

even if we just find ourselves somewhere around newtown or glebe?
maybe late afternoon ones or something, so people can come after work?

Hi, can I ask what a write-in is? I only have a very hazy idea and would like some clarification please.

blossom, a write in is an informal meeting. Bring what you write with and anything else you'll need (depending on the venue) and just show up.
there some chatting, some desperate pleas for inspiration, and word wars. But mostly its a group of people in a room trying to write as much as they can =)

Thanks for the explanation. I thought it might be something like that.

I'd be up for weekend write-ins definitely!

I prefer Sat afternoons or Sunday mornings - maybe around ten or eleven in the morning.

When you say Berk's, are you thinking of the one in Newtown or the one in Leichhardt? I'm assuming Newtown which I think is good.

Another option is Newtown library - the upstairs room if we can get it - and I like the uni idea.

I will be in Newtown this week and am happy to scout out cafe's with big tables that we ca book room in.

Hi everyone!

We have an inner west write-in planned for this Wed night at the Town Hall pub in Newtown. 6pm. Some of us will be eating dinner, some will just be having a drink after work - all of us will be catching up / improving on our word count.

It's right near the train station, left as you come up the stairs.

We'll be upstairs. The group huddled over laptops and writing books.

See you there

Lisa

Sundays are always out for me (yay for handicaps), so might give the wednesday one a look-see. Definitely keen to meet some of the other sadists :-D
