HEEEEEEEEY Valley-ites (and people within driving distance of the Valley), you there?! :) We're looking to an awesome year, with some fun new stuff in the works, and I'm hoping to see you all at some of our write-ins. They're great for escalating wordcounts, and have definitely saved my butt on a few years previous.
I've put up all the currently scheduled events on a Google calendar, which I'll be updating as we add a few more midweek write-ins. I'll work on adding maps to the meeting locations as well tomorrow. Please bookmark it and check it now and then, as that's where any updates to the schedule will appear.

(If it comes up with no events, that's probably because you're looking at October. There are two arrows near the top - click the one on the right to go to November.)
That's all for right now (Ack, 4am, where did YOU come from?!). If you've got any questions or hopeful requests, let us know and Jean or I , or one of our helpful NaNo veterans will do our best to help out. I'll be back tomorrow, too, with a little more information about write-ins, shindigs, something dangerous, and laser-wielding penguins. Sleep well, my darlings!
Summer
who's a little loopy from caramel apples, pumpkin seeds, and 4am. Did I mention the 4am?

Just to let you all know, there was a little goofiness with the calendar (it first got mysteriously reset to Afghanistan time, and then to GMT). I think I've finally convinced it to live in Alaska, though, so it should be okay now. Please let me know if anything looks awry, or if you have any questions about anything.
Who's planning on coming to the kickoff? There will be goooooodiiiiiiies!
Also, keep in mind our very own Night of Writing Dangerously on the 22nd! It'll be an evening to dress up all swankylike and make with some murder... of WORD DEFICIT, THAT IS! -cue the thunder and lightning- This is our first year doing this, and it's going to be a really fun evening. Hope you'll all join us!

Haven't seen my work schedule yet. Definitely praying I'll be able to attend the kick off. May just have to call in sick to work. I think I've earned it!

I should be there. It'll be fun, I think, to get some word wars going, and to have people to talk to, when the plot gets stuck.

By some miracle, I actually have that day off! I'm floored and stoked! I'm so there. Heck, I'm practically there right now. At least, in my head I am!

Hey, did anyone else in the Valley have internet connection problems last night? I was all set to get online for our midnight meeting and write like a madwoman when my husband informed me upon my arrival that our internet, cable, and phone were all down. We assumed it was probably damage from the wind. So I was totally bummed that I could not join the whole chat thing. I couldn't post my word count until just a little while ago!
Anyway, I'm counting the minutes until it's time for the kickoff party! (118 minutes to go!) I may be a little late because hubby had to steal my car today. I'll make up any lost writing time here at home while I wait.
Speaking of writing time, why am I not working on my novel?! Eek!

Hey. I was out of state for the kick-off, but definitely want to attend the write-ins this year. Never had a chance last year. My last year's book went off to publisher a month of so ago. I am looking forward to meeting other people in the area doing this. I live in Palmer and don't know many people yet. Very cool..this year, my partner, brother, and sister-in-law are all doing this as well.

The more the merrier--come join us, it's always great fun (and usually greatly productive, too!). We have people writing on everything from notebooks to Danas to Laptops, in just about every program out there--yWriter, Word, notepad, Liquid Story Binder.
