I know we've got some writers in the group who might need a little shameless local self-promotion, so I'm starting it off.
I have an entry in Loose-IDs' Hot Hooks contest. We had to enter a 100 word blurb and the first 250 words of our novel. There are 20 entries and votes will narrow it down to the top ten. Then we submit more pages and the editors pick the top winners for a publishing contract. So, if any ADULTS (naughty romance stories are involved) are inclined...

I'm excited and nervous and as I sit here and the clock struck midnight (and tonight we turn our clocks back an hour, at 2 am, an email came in from my brother in Afghanistan. I always look forward to them and sometimes I get nervous about opening them too. Today there was an interesting blurb about a recent trip he took, inland, talked to a local landlord. Talked about a bazaar and a photographer in the group.
