First timer here - just wondering if anyone was in the northwest portion of the state. I've joined the Rockford region as well but was looking for some of the more rural, less metropolitan types. =) Drop a line if places like Krape Park, the Cheese Factory, Nora, or Chestnut Mountain provide a good memory or three.

I'm living in Nora right now--Yes the bar's still open till 4 am on weekends. Much more news out here if you don't live here now--The future of food, water & energy in the US being decided, for example. I've also joined the Rockford region, but probably won't drive the 60 miles to a meet-up--gas costs too many $$$.

Ahhh, the megadairy rears its mooing head again? =) I'm over in Stephenson county and am hoping to make it to Rockford a couple of times, but the gas and the time constraints are really prohibitive.

I'm really glad to see someone else from the immediate area though!!

Yeah, I'm one of the plaintiffs. We're back in court on the 23rd. That's non-fiction worth writing about. Well, our evidence at least is non-fiction--can't say the same about the others!

Are you near Freeport? Or maybe we could find some other folks west of Rockford & get together at the Culver's off HWY 20.

I"m from an itsy-bitsy town slightly south-eastish of Freeport, but we go to Freeport all the time. I'm totally up for meeting at Culver's if we can make the time work.

Oh wow. Other people from the Freeport area =D We should definitely set up something to get together. I'm in Freeport myself. I'm thinking about one of these days getting my laptop charged up and heading out to Krape Park. (probably on a weekend) So if somebody would like to join me, drop me a line~

I'm free on Sunday pretty much any time. And probably for a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon. And Thursday I'm free between 2:30 and 5. Any of those work for you?

Sunday afternoon would be excellent (I work midnights so mornings can be a little rough). Tomorrow (Saturday) I'm going to try to swing by the Rockford write-in on 11th St just so that I know I tried. Thursday after 2pm is a little tricksy for me due to my son getting out of school and then I have to teach Pilates. Ummm....let's see

I'll swing by Krape Park on Sunday around 1pm - where would you like to meet?

And then on Thursday I think I'll swing by that coffee shop off of West and South. I'll be there for two-three hours if they'll allow it, but I'll probably get there around 11ish (if they're open - I'm not sure of their hours).

Around 1 works fine for me. I drove through the park today and couldn't think of anywhere specific to meet. So maybe by the little building with the pop machines by the big parking lot? I'll be in pink. =D

Excellent - I think I'll be going with green hooded sweatshirt unless it's like six million degrees out again. But I'll start with the sweatshirt. I'll also have my 10-year-old son with me. He's much more noticeable. =)

Haha awesome. Now that I look at it, I suppose what I'll be wearing is more of a hot pink/borderline red. But it's definitely bright. Can't miss me. :) Ughh. My word count is so low right now. I keep getting distracted by everything. Hopefully I can get something done tomorrow! Anyway, just look for the crazy person posing by the map of the park between 12:50 and 1:10. that'll be me =D See you then!

Really enjoyed the writing in the park - what a gorgeous day for it! We'll have to keep planning impromptu Freeport/Stephenson County write-ins and pad our numbers!

In case anyone is in Freeport today, I'll be at Higher Grounds (Southeast corner mall thing at South and West Streets) from like 10 until 1 (if they don't kick me out...).

Ok so I'm a moron and forgot my computer power cord thingie so I'm going to have to run to Walmart. I'll be back at Higher Grounds by about 10:30, but I want to finish this paragraph before I give up my comfy chair!!

Frustration overload. Freakin' adaptor costs $110 which I don't have. I also don't have time/patience/gas money to keep running back home and into Freeport, so I'm giving up on writing out for the day. I'll be pounding fast and furious at home. I'll probably try again on Sunday, but I forgot to check hours. Arg!! At least I got 1000 down before my computer barfed.

I died for a few days. I haven't done jack for my novel, it makes me sad. I really need to get on top of things. Ughhh. :(
