I find I work best really late at night or in the wee hours of the morning. Can any other night owls share their knowledge of places one might find a writing refuge at 3am in Sydney?

These are the places I know of, but I'm hoping to find more:

Pancakes on the Rocks (The Rocks) - Serve more than just pancakes!

City Extra (Circular Quay) - Nice cafe, good variety of food, a little pricey.

McDonalds (Any 24hr restaurant) - For the more low-brow/cheaper venue.

Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!

I gotta admit, i frequent the 24hour mcdonalds- theres one near my uni, which is near where i live, and the free internet along with campus security is ever so hard to resist =P

I haven't been there in a while, but there was Hernandez in Kings Cross- amazing coffees, 24 hours.
Maisy's in neutral bay is sweet- i used to work up that way, and they do a good hot chocolate but it hasn't got a whole lot of breathing room.

^_^

just checked- hernandez is still there! and still 24 hours! and also, food <$10 XD
i'm going to have to start going back.

there's a great 24 hour French cafe on George Street in the city, a few blocks up from the Eddy Street intersection. I can't remember the name of the cross street but its on a corner and pretty obvious. they do crepes and pastries and things, a pretty good selection i think...

i'd like to know if there are any places like this open in the North Ryde area... Everything happens in the city!

If you ever do remember that French cafe on George, tell me! I'd love to go there after school some time and stay for a few hours... And the North Ryde sounds good, I hope someone's thinking of doing a write-in there!

This French cafe wouldn't happen to be Delifrance on the corner of George and Gouldburn, would it? If they're open 24 hours I think my life may just be complete.

Heh, I'm right in the CBD near town hall and I can never find anything open late at night. These are great suggestions for post-November as well. :P
