Those of you who watched Lindsey’s video this week on NaNoVideo may be disappointed that we don’t have one of those cool scrolling calendars at the top of our regional forum. I do apologize, but this ML ran out of time and technical saavy to make the Google Calendar happen this year. I promise to enroll in Google Calendar 101 for next year. For now, I offer this version with, again, my apologies.

Hello. Where is this video you refer to? I'm somewhat handy with google calendar, I might (after seeing it) be able to help out with something.

Hey Deysi,

I just added you as a buddy!

I'm referring to the NaNoVideos that show up on the home page of the website, upper right hand corner. It changes every few days, but they archive them. The video I referred to is the one where Lindsey Grant explains how to affiliate and home to a region. The actual production of the Google calendar is done through a Google account on their site, then linked somehow to our region.

Let me know what you think.

HI all,

I'm replying to this because I want to move it to the top of forum where new folks can see it better. I know there's a way I can do this with my "ML Powers" as Lindsey Grant calls them, but I haven't quite figured it out yet, so I'm doing it the sneaky way.

Keep writing, y'all!

Debbie, I'm bumping this thread back up so you don't have to double-post ;)

Also I wanted to point out that I'll likely be hanging out at Cafe Azul tomorrow, and I want to know if anybody else is for sure planning on going.

Hi and thanks for the "bump-up!"

There's been a change to the Cafe Azul schedule, same days, only from 3:00 - 6:00 pm.

I won't be at Azul tomorrow, I'm heading over to Redwood Cafe in Cotati, and then on to Borders in Santa Rosa. That's one I host, so I really can't NOT go! LOL. Unfortunately, the scheduled write-ins at Azul don't mesh well with my schedule, but I may try to go there next week if I can. I was there on Sunday, though, and it is a really neat place.

Actually, come to think of it...if the Azul write-ins are over at 6:00, why not head over to Borders and keep on writing? Just a thought...twist...twist...

Can we add something to the calendar in the evening in Petaluma at the Starbucks by Trader Joe's?
The only evening thing is at the library, which is great but I do like my espresso oh-so-much!

BooBoo
That's a great thought. I'm jamming to get in as many words as I can before my new granddaughter is born! She was due Monday. If I'm up to it, I will come by.

We can have as many write-ins as we like (and I DO like write-ins!) and add them to the calendar, but it has to be a definite thing. Wrimos do not have to RSVP to attend write-ins (many don't), so if I list it in the calendar, at least one person should be committed to being there no matter what to "host" it. I try to attend as many different write-ins as I can, however I'm already committed to hosting three and that is all I can commit to doing.

So, here's my suggestion. If you're willing to commit to a day and time, go ahead and make a new thread about it, follow the examples I've done so it stands out as new write-in, (i.e., WRITE-IN -- Starbucks...etc.). Make sure to put the address, days, times (am or pm?) in the body of the post, and then check back in to answer any questions folks may have. As soon as I see that a new (definite) write-in has been posted, I will add it to the calendar.

Also, be patient. I've hosted write-ins with a two-hour time span and had people trickle in, sometimes not showing up at all until the final hour. I'm guessing however, that if you do this, you'll have a few takers. (Me, if I can. That Starbucks is a 1/2 mile from my house!)

Hope that helps!

Here I go, replying to this thread so I can move it up to the top again. Someday, I have to learn how to do this the right way!

Hi Debbie,
Do you put the Dr. Insomnia's write in on the master calendar or do I.
Thanks

Hi Sausalito Girl,

I'm so sorry I didn't get to list that for you. That short of a notice is iffy for getting it on the calendar. I usually check in once a day, and must have just signed off when you posted this, which meant under the best of circumstances, I probably wouldn't have seen your post until well after you all had been merrily tapping away. As is was, I was pretty much out of commission for Friday night through today, so I'm only checking into the forums now. I hope you had a good turnout.
