How many persons out there would be interested in getting together for 'regular' write-in's. In order to get away from the bustle of family life, or to merely soak up the sinergy (misspell??) of fellow NaNo's??? Several coffee houses to choose from, as well as restaurants. Takers???

I'm down! I live in Arlington, but I'm familiar with GP too. There's some great local coffee shops in Arlington that I know of.
Also, do you know of a midnight-start that's happening in GP/Arlington area? The few I've read about are in places I'm not familiar with.

I'm in Cedar Hill, so I could make it. Where and when? I know that the people at the Oasis off of Joe Pool would love to have us there. They have WiFi but you have to catch them on a good day. I have a portable one that up to 5 computers can log on. (Not sure how that works)

Imansays,
I can meetup for a writin at any time you're schedule permits. I live more towards Grand Prairie. There's a 24 hour Whataburger with free WiFi ( I think ) at the intersection of Mayfield and 360. How's about that place to meetup????
I want to make it over the finish line. I love my current story and would love some companionship to help 'throw' me over the finish line.

I counted around five NaNo's in the Arlington area. I can meetup with everyone at any time. I am a 'kept' woman and have no commitments other than .....hubby. :)
Mornings are best, but can do evenings after work though.....gasp.... will anyone have the extra brain power required???
There's a Whataburger with free WiFi at Mayfield and 360. Not glamorous, I know but at least they won't throw us out...too much.

Count me in. I'm jazzed. It's now 01:03 on day one and my first 1,774 words are done! Off to a good start and it is flowing very well. Have no idea where I'm going - will know when I get there.
I'm located just off 360 at Park Row (Between I-20 & I-30) so anywhere in that area (+- 5 miles) would be good for me. I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance.
Actually, I'm not so much into "write-ins" as I am brainstorming" sessions asking for ideas and sharing them when we hit a snag and need to figure out what way to go. I personally find these more profitable than writing in groups. I'm sort of easily distracted and prefer solitude when I write. But I do need breaks and do like throwing ideas around.
Anyone interedt in this sort of thing?

I'd be up for it. I also just got a job at the Barnes and Noble at the Parks Mall, which has a pretty nice coffee shop area. My schedule is somewhat erratic, but I'd definitely try to make all I could.

Sounds good, it seems like we're all pretty much from the same area! And ZantarBlack, that's convenient. We could always have a write in over there if it seems like a good place for everyone else ?
It's 1:19 here and I confess myself slightly agitated at only 903 words. I massively suck tonight.

We already have standing Arlington write-ins on Thursdays at Java Jo'z after about 5:30, and on Saturdays at Coffee Haus from about 2-5. I mentioned the Coffee Haus map to someone at the midnight write-in, and it's here. It shows where you can park and how to navigate the one-way streets.
I'd be down for a Whataburger write-in after work on weeknights, if people want to meet there. Pick a date and time, and I can add it to our official calendar.
What parts of Arlington does everyone live in? I live in North Arlington, but work in South Arlington. I work 8-5 Mon-Thurs, and I'm pretty much free for the rest of my time.

I'm pretty much at exactly 20 & 360, so the whataburger location works great, not so much the north arlington locations. I prefer not to travel too far for selfish / family reasons.

We could still meet at Panera- you can get to that area if you take the detour. It's a little wacky, but doable.

i went that way to get on 30 (i have no idea why, i realized half way there that it was a bad idea) and you can get to panera if you're on the south side of 30, otherwise i think you have to take the detour

Aiwendel,
Synthetic_jesso was wanting to meet up at Joe's Java on Thr. at 5:30 Joe's is at Green Oaks and 360. We can plan to meet again from there. Also, I found out that the Arlington Whataburger does not have WiFi. Others MIGHT but not that one.
Sorry about that.
Hope to hear from you soon, or we'll just see you there at 5:30 Thursday at Joe's Java.

synthetic_jesso,
I thought the plan was for Thursday 5:30 at Joe's Java at Green Oaks and 360?
Did we want to change the location? Will it be Panera in Arlington.?
I think another person thought we'd meet at the Whataburger on 360 and Mayfield but I told them no it would be at Joe's Java. Should I email them with a correction, correction???
thanks,

JeanneG,
I think I know you girlfriend. Especially, when you mentioned the Oasis. Hey, a bunch of us are meeting up at Joe's Java this coming Thursday at 5:30. Joe's is at Green Oaks and 360, but mapquest it for better directions. I'll be there if no one else then we can schedule other writeins before we leave that night.

i'm fairly certain the plan is still thursdays at java joes. i was just bemoaning the fact that panera is pretty much out of the question. my guess is your best bet would be to look at the calender and go where it says.

We are still on for Java Jo'z on Thursdays, and Coffee Haus on Saturdays. Whataburger or Panera would be in addition to these two, because I think Arlington is awesome enough to have multiple write-ins a week :D

Okay, for South Arlington, we have all of The Highlands to choose from (Borders and America's Best Coffee come to mind), there's a coffee shop called Mochalux on Collins I believe, there's a bagel shop down Cooper called Bagel Boyz that would be a good spot for a Friday or Saturday morning write-in... Where/when do we wanna do a South Arlington thing?
