There is a glitch in the Nano website Author Search bug. This applies specifically to anyone who is a past Nano participant who has had the Prescott Region Homed. To see if it affects you, follow these steps:
* Go to the Search page and choose the "Authors" tab.
* Click the link “Click for advanced search options”
* Check the box “Search only members in my home region.”
* See if your name comes up.
If your name does come up then you are good to go. However, if it does not then it means that you have been caught in this glitch. Fortunately, there is a way to fix this:
* Go to your personal Author Profile (the “My NaNoWriMo” link in the header).
* Click on the “My Regions” link on the left side of your Author Profile.
* Go to the “Home Region” tab.
* Choose “No Home Region” and save.
* Now choose the option “United States :: Arizona :: Prescott” and save.
What this is doing is toggling your preference and forcing the database to take notice. Go back to the Author Search and do another region search. Your name should now show up. I’ve tested this myself and it works.
This problem is a known site issue, however, it may be a while before they get around to fixing this particular glitch. So, if you have five minutes of time you might want to try the steps above.
Let me know if you have any problems or questions.
