I had hoped to find a location big enough for us to have an all-day write-in on November 1st. That hasn't panned out.

Anyone interested in meeting at Borders Books Cafe in Santa Rosa when they open at 10:00 am on Sunday morning? Only caveat is that it gets busy on a Sunday, which is why morning might be best. However, while the cafe only has so many seats, there are places throughout the store where we can write...a large table with chairs in the corner opposite the cafe, and groupings of chairs throughout the store. If a lot of us show up, we might not all get to write together, but we could maybe come together at set intervals and compare word counts. Also, if a lot of us show up, we need to keep in mind that we are doing so without giving Borders any advance notice, so we'll have to keep our table-hogging to a minimum.

Any other suggestions for a location on Sunday? Or does this sound good? Oh, and as far as doing a writing marathon, I have something mid-afternoon, so I couldn't stay all day.

MEEEEEEEEEEE 8D Me and Jean and Odin are probably all up for it!

And I say we make a PJ PARTY of it! It'll be fun and we can be easily spotted by other WriMo-ers.
And I probably won't stay all day, because I would've had an already crazy weekend and I require sleep and rest and rotting.

I'll just be wearing street clothes -- my NaNo t-shirt. I have to go to a meeting in the afternoon, and PJ's wouldn't quite cut it!

Maybe I'll bring a robe along, just in case.

A robe will do just fine!

Sonoma-Marin Wrimos!

Cafe Azul opens at 7 AM tomorrow. See you there. You can "friend" them on facebook, they have our logo and announcement there. Give them a wave and tell them if you are coming so they'll have enough staff.

Thank you Cafe Azul. Last one to leave is a chicken!

I think they'll take you in PJs and robes. After all, we're writers!

Wow. This is great. Two choices for tomorrow.

Not sure I can make Cafe Azul, but I'll try.

I've got work in the afternoon tomorrow, but as long as I manage to wake up at a reasonable hour (Halloween is so tricksy, tempting me into a night of raucousness when I should clearly be warming up for NaNo!), I'll definitely be there for a few hours!

Mmm... I'm beginning to warm up to this. Cafe Azul seems much more spacious and willing to let people lounge for long hours. I might just head out in that direction. No robes for me though. Maybe a silk nightie and a trench-like coat.
How early do people plan on showing up? Anybody at noon?
I'm debating with myself about what time I should wake up.

I'm with you RosePetal9. I have been partying and the thought of getting to Azul at 7:00 is now a bit daunting. But I'm going to give it my best shot. Then it's off to Borders with me.

Even though I was at a party with the champagne flowing freely, I couldn't stop thinking about the novel I'm going to start in a few hours. I guess this writing thing, once it's got you by the...mind...won't let you go!

Happy Writing, all. I'll have to have lots of coffee tomorrow to make it through my day. Or black tea, my preferred caffeine beverage.

I'll probably get there early, so I can make it to the Borders write-in I suggested by 10:00 am. Then off to a Redwood Writers Club meeting, where I have one minute to extol the virtues of writing a novel in 30 days.

Oh well. See you all whenever!

Awww, now I'm confused about which place to go, Borders or Cafe Azul. I think if BooBoo's going to try and make it to Cafe Azul, then I'll tell Jean about it and we'll prolly meet you guys there if that's where most of everyone will be amassing.

CAFE AZUL IT IS. I'll be there in my PJs and Robes and slippers and bring a stuffed animal!

Czenko,
I plan to be there close to 7, and stay most of the day. I have a Redwood Writer's meeting at 3, and might come back. The cafe is really perfect - free internet, great coffee and very healthy food, not to mention the fresh pies. With enough of us there, a quick walk down 4th Street with someone watching our computers would work too - for energy. I take my earphones and Ipod, or play Itunes on my computer - the music they play is loud. If there's enough of us, perhaps we could direct that for awhile during our times. But bring your headphones just in case. Bring a sweater too. They keep it cool. Also fun to watch people walking by, or to sit out in the little patio in the front. No parking fees on Sundays!

And it's an hour earlier now..
