I'm from Swansea and starting today.... Wanted to know about the meet-ups, what happens is it a writing circle or more like a social meeting of people? Am pretty interested but a little shy if honest!

Hello Laura and welcome.
Meetups vary a lot - some people get together with their laptops and type, some like to chat. I like to run a little writing exercise with a prize for the best one - it's down to what people like to do. We're always a really friendly bunch. The important thing is that it gives you a chance to meet other nutters doing the same thing...
There's hopefully going to be a meetup in Swansea on Wednesday - I suggest you post on this thread: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3334487 and go along if you feel like it.
