It's not like I can't get downtown for a meet up, but I thought I'd see if anyone else on the south side would like to meet up somewhere down here sometime.

I can't write at the meet-ups (no laptop, alas,) but I figured we could get together for a bit of a whine over coffee, slouching around in our boho outfits and berets, looking like the tortured writers we are. Make for a good show, if nothing else!

Well, I don't own a beret (though I would love to!) but I'd down for a Southsider meet-up! I have been unable to make it to a "regular" one yet due to scheduling. I'm at County Line and Sherman (right between Emerson and Madison) so let me know where you want to meet up and if the scheduling works out, I'll be there!

I went to Panera this morning to hopefully gather some crazy writers, but I posted too late last night, so I was all by myself. I think, due to Panera's proximity to the mall that I will instead be trying to gather people at Strange Brew (www.thestrangebrew.net) on Sundays, from 10 to Noon, at least. Anyone who wants to join me is more than welcome, and I'd also be up for a more social gathering there or elsewhere if people just want to get away from the computers for a while.

Hi! I'm just off of the Southport exit off of 65 and would love to have a meet up here on the south side somewhere. I work evenings right now (5:00p-9:00p Monday through Thursday and 2:00p-9:00p on Sundays,) so evenings really don't work for me. However, I'm assuming you guys have day jobs so I understand if you can't find a time before 5:00p.

I just woke up, so I apologize if this doesn't make any sense. I'm not exactly a morning person.

Thanks guys.

Strange Brew... oh that sounds like the perfect place for a meet-up. Unable if I would be able to make it or not, but that seems like a good place. I have a laptop, but am fearful of taking it out in the world so I would probably have the old pen and paper anyway.

I would like an esoteric coffee for my tummy please!

Hey all Southsiders,

I'll try to only post this once, as I see apparently my last post was duplicated!! For reference, my schedule is pretty light right now -- 1-8 on Mon and Wed I have school. Weekends are rough for me to meet, but I will TRY to make it to SB on Sundays. However, for those of you who need a daytime meet-up, I am good for times around what I listed. At the Southport/65 intersection, there is a Starbucks that I use sometimes to tutor, so that would be a good place to meet... or wherever else anyone wants.

See some of you soon, I'm sure :)

I live right of 65 at Southport Rd. I haven't been able ot make it to any meets, though I don't work. I know some friends and I are going down to Brown County for a nature walk. Try to get the creativity mill working again. I can't seem to get past my introduction for my story! >-< Anybody interested, theres a handy Panera in front of the meijer store here, and several starbucks in the area.

Wow, 65 and Southport? Me too! That sounds like a great place to meet, but what times work best for you?

I'm in Greenwood, and would be up for a Tuesday or Thursday evening thing.

I am down for Tues or Thurdays, pretty much any time. Some weeks my stepson is here on Thursdays (next week and 2 weeks after that), but otherwise I'm generally free.

Is anyone interested in meeting tomorrow somewhere on the southside? Have laptop and will travel :)

hmm..I'm going to be out of town tomorrow, but I could do something next week. I'm almost always home, it's just a matter of getting a car. Of course, walking distance is okay too. I walk to starbucks and the back all the time. I don't have a labtop, but I have my stuff printed out, and a handy notebook and angel pencil. *grins*

Anybody interested in doing something this coming week? I'd love to have someone read what I've written, for an opinion.

Sure! How do your days (before 5p) or Friday (all day) look? I work odd hours but completely agree with you. I'd love to get an opinion on this little piece of work.

Let me know what works for you... :D

Heather I am available all day Friday or anytime Tuesday. My before-5 days Wed and Thurs this week are booked. But if you guys decide to meet on Tues or Fri I can be there! I'm kind of floundering for plot points and the last couple thousand words I wrote were off-the-cuff stuff that will probably be deleted after NaNo unless I can figure out how to make it mesh w/ the story... so I'd love to get some chitchat going about plotting and stories thus far. I'll watch the thread for what you guys decide :)

How does 10:30a on Tuesday sound to everyone? Early enough for coffee (not like you can't drink it all day, though) and yet late enough for a mid-morning brunch. Let me know your thoughts! :)

Could we do it a tad later? The toddler usually naps around 11:30 or 12ish and I'm sure my hubby would appreciate getting some work done while I leave.

Ack! I completely forgot to get back with you!! I'm so sorry....I feel so bad now!! *keels over*

Is anyone free today? Short notice, I know. But I'm free until 3:30p if anyone wants to meet at the Starbucks (next to LA Fitness) of Panera (in front of Meijer) or where ever your heart desires. :)

Let me know, and again I apologize.

To be honest, I just woke up. I'm unemployed, my classes are all afternoon and night, and I've gotten in the habit of staying up too late in sleeping in way too late. But, that said, I think I can jump in the shower and be out that way relatively quickly. I don't live far from Southport.

Do you want to say about 1:30? I can be ready before that but it gives me some time to run errands first :) The Panera would be great (I prefer their icee frapiccino-like drinks to Starbucks) unless you'd rather go somewhere else.

OK I'm chilling at Panera on Southport by the Meijer, sitting outside enjoying the nice day. I'll be here until I reach at least 2K words, or how ever long I can stand the lack of distractions :)

Just a reminder, I'll be at Strange Brew Sunday from 10 to noon. They have yummy hot chocolate, and I've been told their coffee is pretty good, too, if you've never been there. Hopefully I'll see some of you there this week!

I need to apologize to anyone who is going to the Strange Brew write-in this morning. I am sick, and have decided to stay home so as not to infect anyone else. See you all next week!
