Hey everyone! I figured it might be fun to start a thread each day for general updates and chatter about how things are going. How's everyone doing so far today?

Hey Kat. Made myself have a nice leisurely coffee and newspaper, coffee and crossword - which was terrible for me this morning. An old soldiers breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Sat down at 9:30, knocked out 2057 words. It's 12:16, I'm printing it off and am gonna do some fixing, decide whether to continue or not. Happy first day everybody!!

Good job! I just hit 1000 so I'm going to do a few quick things around the house before heading out to the Amherst Write-In.

2032 for me today! Not quite what I wanted to get to, but it was a long one!! Had company for breakfast (oldest daughter and her boyfriend have been back visiting from IL and they were flying out this AM), then we had to stuff the 3 types of sausage we ground and mixed yesterday. Plus we were out last night! My poor brain is done for today. But I'm happy with progress so far. Tomorrow will be better!

Kat,

Amherst write-in was fantastic -- thanks so much for suggesting A & E Roasters. Would love it if we can do it there again -- and what fun to see so many people writing up a storm. I'm at 7,500 words in my new novel and really love being in the thick of it. Thanks again -- the two events thus far have been delightful.

5011 words for me today. I'm calling it quits for tonight but I know where my characters are going tomorrow.

I hit 5065 words at 11:55pm. Which was amazing for me. I loved the Write-in today in Amherst. It was so calming and a great writing atmosphere, though i am making a mental (more like written) note that someone needs to bring an extention cord if we do get to write at the brilliantly writer friendly atomosphere in A&E Roastery. Loved it thank you Kat for putting it together.

Boy do I feel like a light weight! But I had a deadline for writing up a project for one of my classes I had to rush through, so I don't feel so bad. I've had a bit of the "I'm not sure what I'm doing" jitters as some of my characters are moving in directions I hadn't planned on-- but I'm just hanging on, enjoying the ride. Hoping to keep up at least this count everyday-- after all slow and steady wins the race!

Thanks, Gregory, and good job, everyone! I got to 5000 last night, so I'm happy.

Would there be interest in another Amherst write-in next Sunday?

I was so tapped from the weekend's Halloween-related activities I almost put off starting entirely. I came home last night and planned to go right to bed, but instead made some coffee and got just over 900 words cobbled together. On the surface of it, I'm a little disappointed that I'm starting behind, but what I have has sparked ideas for what I hope will end up being a great many words today, so I feel pretty good.
