Join us every Wednesday for weekly writing sessions at Urbana Cafe! (Alliteration not intentional. On the other hand...when you want to write more words, why not write on Wednesdays with other wonderful Wrimos?)
Urbana features fair-trade and organic coffee and is populated with more outlets than most cafes. Still, I'd suggest bringing a power bar if you have one, just in case. There is Internet available, if you choose to purchase a discount card. (The cards are a great idea if you plan on attending these sessions regularly, or if you take a liking to Urbana--with a card, you get a 10% discount on purchases, and every time you load $20 onto the card, you get a free drink!)

The simplest way to get there by TTC is to get off at Bay station and walk South down Bay St until you reach the cafe. It's on the left hand side of the street, right before St. Joseph St.
You can also get off at Wellesley station, and walk west on Wellesley until you reach Bay, and then walk North until you see Urbana Cafe on the right. (It's probably about the same walking time, but a little more complicated.)

I believe the cafe has two PCs available for a fee.
It's a great place - bright, open, and just-big-enough-not-to-feel-like-a-closet-ulike-most-coffee-shops.
A small addition/change to Wednesday 11th (next week) - I'll be there between 1pm to 5pm for those who can't make the night-time writing sessions. Natalia should be there between 6pm to 10pm.

I haven't been there in a while either, but I don't recall seeing any computers... but I believe Nelson's been there more recently, so maybe I'm wrong too-- and this would be one of those very rare cases where that would be a good thing, lol. I do recall there being computers at the other Urbana location....and I just tried to call to confirm, but it seems their number isn't working at the moment... : S

Good stuff! I ended up off on my own because I showed up a bit late and couldn't find a spot near the NaNo table with a plug nearby, but I still got lots done. Writing out of my usual space actually helped a bit. The dance music was a bit much though, maybe next time I'll bring different headphones...
