the hero-type person is badgering the old sage-type person to repair the magic thingummy that will allow him to open the door to Farie to allow him to save his girlfriend that was kidnapped by goblins.

The Sage-type person doesn't want to. He says he's not the right guy and if he fixes it, it's going to break again, if he can fix it at all.

Ooh, foreshadowing.

I know nothing about mediaeval England, so it's fortunate most of the novel takes place in the modern day!

My FMC is meeting her would-be-love-interest for the second time and he's about to ask her Mage of a mother for her hand in marriage. But he is the general of the King's army and my Lady Mage really despises the crown. Anywhoooo, he would be her love interest, but I'm about to have them go on a stroll, where she of course, is going to be kidnapped by an evil wizard in pursuit world domination or something or other (haven't quite worked that out yet) and in the process of the kidnapping, her would-be-lover gets brutally killed by said Wizards henchmen.

Hellooooo, first plot point! And second chapter, entrance of the real love interest. Hehe.

The starship Odyssey is en route to Saturn's moon Titan to establish a moon base there. A somewhat humourous bit where the ship's captain is inspecting the Space Marine's barracks, and eating with the Marines. XD The ship's XO is inspecting the construction materials for said moon base with the head engineer, whom wraps up chapter one with a bit of humour.

My MC has just rejoined his friends at the bottom of the mountain, and they're fighting over a girl and drinking. Fun times.

My MC has just met the other 3 MMCs, and they're all clones of each other, but they don't know it yet. There's also two girls, and one of them is the love interest, but I don't know which one yet.

I have a bunch of subplots worldwide, basically. Right now, three people (one of whom is completely new to the Resistance group) are trying to get back into their base in the outskirts of Berlin only to find the lock has been jammed. I think they're going to find someone's dead body inside, probably one of their own. 8D
