Hi Sonoma region -

I'm located in Vallejo but work in SF during the week. I'm trying to find out which is right region for me. I'm subscribing to this region, the East Bay and San Francisco.

East Bay looks to have a lot of writers in Concord which is 20 minutes away but does Sonoma region have any Vallejo writers (we live only 9 miles away from the county line).

Any info on where Vallejo writers should make their "home" region would be much appreciated!

peace and question marks,

flc

This is a great question, and one I have on my list for Lindsey Grant, the NaNoWriMo Community Liaison. We've had posts from Fort Bragg/Mendocino, Napa Valley and now you in Vallejo. I hope to get back to all of you within the week with an answer. My guess is, you fall into the "California :: Other Regions" group, although that probably isn't much help. I'm new to the ML-ing thing, so I'm not sure how this works.

Some folks who live in other counties, but work in SF use SF as their "home" region. As far as getting to write-ins, I typically drive 20-25 minutes to get to the ones in Santa Rosa or Sebastopol. For the write-in in Petaluma, it's a five minutes walk from my house! So it can certainly vary, although a 20 minute drive isn't unusual.

So, the quick answer is, try different write-ins in different regions and see what feels like the best fit as well as what works for your schedule and convenience.

Happy Writing!

Hi Boo Boo!

Thanks so much for getting back to me! I found one other person from Vallejo. I am going to message them this post and see where they are going to write-ins. Yes, I will definitely try to check out regions and see what feels like home...

that is if my corp job allows me any time at all around home writing!

Thanks Debbie! You're an awesome ML so far!

Thanks for the complement! It's much appreciated. This job is a lot more work than I ever anticipated, but it is also a lot of fun, so I guess that's the good news and the good news!

I hope your corps job gives you writing time, too!

Hi! I'm also from Vallejo and had the same question. I'm signed up here and in the East Bay group and I think that will work. I'll go check the Other Regions as well, just to see if any Vallejoans are signed up there, but I'm feeling OK with this border-straddling position.
