Alas, I tutor most evenings so can't make any of the week-day write-ins. However, I would like to invite those who can to join me for a few daytime write-in sessions. This could be a great opportunity for students, those who work from home or aren't working right now to get dressed up (i.e. anything more than pyjamas) and join some fellow novelists for a top writing session before the work-day begins.

Days: Any out of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Times: Anytime before or during office hours!

Locations: Many possibilities. The first two that spring to mind are:
The Rich Mix Arts Centre, Bethnal Green Road. Tables, a few plugs, some comfy sofas and free wi-fi (jackpot!). Open from 9am.
Nincomsoup, Old Street Station. Lots of tables but plug sockets are scant (could be fixed with an extension lead if they don't mind). Free wi-fi with a purchase of their yummy food or drink. Open from 7.30am and perfectly placed for the post-writing commute to work.

Further suggestions for time and place are most welcome. I hope a few people are up for this as it would be great to meet some fellow NaNoWriMos! :)

Top tip for anyone who ventures into central London in the mornings. If, like me, you're a pre-work, writer then I highly recommend upstairs in the Tottenham Court Road Starbucks. Light and airy, plenty of power points, desks and a conspicuous lack of people. Forget it later in the day: in the evenings particularly it's heaving. But the mornings are pretty sweet.

Hey HBee

I notice you have no word count logged yet - so if you need daytime encouragement I am a fellow pyjama dweller and located in the East End so Rich Mix would work well, or there's that bar/coffee place at the top of Brick Lane that does free wi-fi... I'll need to plug in for the near future (until I get a new battery!)... So that could work well for me, especially a early start one - otherwise it's just too tempting to stay in bed and waste the day (again)...

Free most days really!

Life of Riley me. Who was Riley? And is that how you spell it??

Hi

Am currently out of the country but back at the weekend. Seeing that I have no job to go to I'll be up for daytime write ins - just let me know where you guys meet and what time. I'm a Hackney girl so anywhere in East London's fine for me.

Alrighty, it seems we might have something going here :) Thanks for your responses.

How does Rich Mix Wednesday at 10am sound?

Poppet: I've done a paltry 700 words, the shame has been too much for me to log that amount so far but I guess you have to start somewhere!

Let me know about Wednesday, hopefully see y'all there!

I'm happy with Weds at 10am.

Don't know how I'll recognise anyone - I have medium length brown hair, which isn't very helpful, but I assume it'll be quite empty then.

Hi there Daytime peoples!

I'm a part-time teacher assistant and I happen to have a big empty slot from 9.50 to 2.15 on Wednesdays. Your write-in sounds quite in teresting to me, although I have no idea where the Rich Mix is and whether I'll be able to make the write-in in time. I work in Archway, so could potentially tube it to the East End. How long are you guys planning on writing for?

Hi there

I'm gonna try to pop in on this at some point in the morning - unfortunately I have a meeting at 12 and still planning to do, so may not manage it - though the meeting's in Brick Lane, so if don't get there beforehand will see if anyone's left after 1...

Hope it goes well. Would definately be up for more daytime write ins for anyone who's around?

I'm not sure how long it will go on for tomorrow... I have to pop off to Central London for 2.30 but obviously I can't speak for anyone else.

If you're not sure where to go, the address is: 35-47 Bethnal Green Rd, London, E1 6LA. The nearest tube is Bethnal Green and it's a stone's throw from Shoreditch High Street.

Hopefully being around fellow Nanowrimos will shame me into racking up a few more words (motivation has been lagging somewhat...) Definitely up for making this a regular Wednesday session if anyone is interested.

See you tomorrow!

Hi

Just to let you know I came along until 11.30ish but didn't see anyone there.

It's a nice venue though.

Hey, I turned up to wednesday's day time write in late but couldn't tell if any wrimo's were left or not!!

I would be really up for regular day time write ins if anyone else is... If I'm going to do this could do with some daytime encouragment and routine! I'm so behind I need people to kick me up the arse next week!

I live near the idea store on Roman Road, Bow, and there's plug in's there, food and coffee and a good environment to work in I think... so could have a regular 10 am slot there if anyone's up for it??

Easy also for me to get up to hackney, Al, so if you know a place up there maybe we could try that.

Also happy to try RichMix again one day this week if anyone's up for it. Maybe silly hats are in order so we can recognise each other?? I can be quite noticeable when I want to be, being given to tartan jackets and occassional head wear...

:-)

Would anyone be interested in a central London Wednesday afternoon/lunchtime write-in?

Hi,

I'll try the RichMix venue again this week if anyone is up for it, if so suggest a time/day and I will join you.

I'm planning on writing at the BFI on the southbank where all the fab chairs and sofas are. No power points though so on battery. If anyone's up for it I'm there from 1.30 to 5pm - planning on getting loads done
