Anyone up for word wars?

I don't mind running it this year (though I'm not sure whether there are prizes provided -> ask the MLs)

For those of you who aren't familiar with word wars, word wars is where us wrimos will represent our different parts of Singapore in a mean competition of word production. Every week (that would be every Sunday), the total word count of all the participants will be tallied and averaged and that number will be the score for the zone for that week.

So here are the zones that can register for (i.e. where you live now)

Zones:
1) East
2) West
3) North
4) South
5) Overseas

Reply to this post with your zone if you want to participate.

Registration will close Sunday, 8th of November and the results from the first week will be out on Monday, 9th.

Does South mean Central?

Well cause Central isn't exactly in the centre of the country so I'll assume it is :)

I'm actually in Serangoon North, right smack in the middle of North East. But I'll go North because it has North in it. I think that made sense.

I was in South/Central last year although I would technically be in West according to the MRT guidelines (take the nearest MRT station; if it's underground, you're in South/Central; if it's not, select the appropriate region), as the nearest is Queenstown.

But hmm, this year I think I'll take West :D

East! (I think.)

Mostly participating as extra motivation. You know, I think I seriously need that "electrical shock" option on Write or Die.

Well just remember that as a team of one Ziyang once won the contest. Which reminds me, I think he's owed a KitKat.

I suppose if you take the labels as vector "directions" rather than scalar "areas", you could be "extremely northwest".

The heartland has surprisingly few worders fighting for it. Probably because we're all heart. It's why we're not called headlanders.

Pvt. Jurong here, reporting for duty. One more into the breach for West.

Bukit Timah was the first cross island road so I'd say up to Farrer/Adam it's South and after that it's West since it curves around our tiny non-mountain and the reservoirs to go west. The first reservoir is at Adam/Lornie.

Pick whichever one you like. Though if it's northeast, it's probably north.

Haha, yah, I was the only representative from Overseas once (and won it, writing a 2000 word a day pace for 25 days)

Too bad I'm recalled back to Singapore to work =p

Actually larger teams (though less lonely) means they have to motivate each other to write... imagine having someone with a 0 word count after day 15....
