*gasps and crawls into thread* Made it. I crossed the 20K line tonight, despite having to make up the better part of a thousand words from yesterday, after working all day today. Now, if my computer will just hold up until my new power cord gets here, I'll be doing alright. (And if I have to, I'll write the next few chapters by hand, but I'm kind of desperately praying that the tracking info is right and it'll get here tomorrow.)

I made it to 20k about 11am at the library this morning. Woot!
Also, a goat has inexplicably made its way into my novel. Ahem.
Don't ask! I have no idea!
Anyone know anything about goats??

Touchdown!
Janewilk, I had a goat in my year's nano, which I'm still rewriting. He only had one word of dialogue (he said Maaa once), but he was still an important character. His name is Rover.

I should also add, though, that I DO have more than 1,000 measly words. I have been typing on my Alphasmart Neo, and it's not been downloaded to my real computer yet.
It's still nowhere close to 20K...

Way to go, everyone! I just hit 20k ... 20,002 to be exact. It was a violent exercise in willpower (maybe "mental self-domination" is more apt), but I did it! Faking an appointment in the morning so I can sleep in a little bit.
Love you guys =)

Gulp. I'm here. Doesn't feel real, but maybe it is. hooray.
I had to write in a tawdry Merry Sue situation. (I know it's probably Mary Sue, but this one was merry in the finest sense of the word) to yank my attention and investment in , and it worked.
TAking the rest of the night off to let my aching wrists rest. whew.

I was so busy brokering the peace agreement between my Muse and Inner Editor that I forgot to post when I hit 20k. I am now at 23,312. And I'm tired...and the day job is still there in the morning. So, off to bed I go!
Congrats to everyone in the 20k range...see you at 25k!!
G'night!
