Who thinks they are more than likely going to make it to the east side write in?
Myself (obviously) and Bluebead have both *mostly* committed to it barring any unseen circumstances.
Is anyone else planning to attend?

I'm going to try, depending on when I finish work.

I'll try to be there, but no promises. Being unemployed I find it difficult to justify going somewhere and purchasing food/drinks when I can just get something here. Plus, I *might* go onto OSU Campus with my husband.
For a newbie like me, what do you guys do at write ins and what should I be prepared for? This is my first NaNo and my first time really writing. I've tried to start stories before, but I loose motivation and interest fairly quickly.

As a newbie coming to a write-in, you should bring either your laptop or a pad of paper and a pencil/pen. More than likely, there will be written word challenges, stuff like how many words you can write in a set number of minutes (usually 10 to 15 minute sprints). You can expect lots of help from the more experienced NaNo-ers who will attend. Also, you may be asked to write a short character sketch involving your MC or write a short scene, a pre-set set of circumstances, into which you insert your character and see how he/she reacts to it (This last example is the kind of thing which helps you define who your character is and how he/she reacts to emotional circumstances. Then, it's easier to plug those kinds of emotions into your story because you already have a handle on how to make your character come off as believable.)---stuff like that. Also, you may not want to do any of those things and simply wish to work directly on your story but in the company of like-minded souls, lol. It always helps to bounce ideas off real people than do online research which may not turn up anything you can use.

I don't know where the calendar is. Could you give me the time and place for the Nov. 4 write-in?
Thanks

Panera bread - 2374 Taylor Road, Reynoldsburg, 43068
Directions (thanks bluebead)!!!
It's on Rte. 256, just north of I-70 East. It's on somewhat of a hill above 256 at the southeast corner of Rte. 256 and Taylor Road. Turn onto Taylor and make a turn (to the south) into the first street off Taylor Road (it only goes to the south; it's not a cross street). Panera is right next to T.G.I. Friday's.

Thanks, Hansongirl. That's one of my regular haunts after the small 5Bean up the road. Unfortunately, I'll be working to pay the man during that time. Oh, to be a full time writer and suffer the agony and ecstasy of living by the pen!
