Shout out to all of us who've had already had to stay up past midnight to make our daily goal.
Bring on the coffee!

No joke. I wouldn't feel the need to stay up if my wife would turn the damn TV off while we try to write. Now I'm staying up late so I can try to meet goal.

Ugh, you can already see the strain of time by the fact that I typo'd on a forum post. x_x I probably just did again. Sorry.

I stayed up until after Midnight working on my story, but I don't think I count toward this, as I generally stay up until 4am anyway. My goal is to try to get 2,000 words a day BEFORE Midnight (including what I did from the night before after Midnight.) I'm still playing catch up, but I AM catching up. :)

My thought process on this is that 2,000 words a day will put me ahead of the game and give me some cushion for those days when I just can't write anything, or real life concerns get in the way - I'm anticipating Thanksgiving might provide that sort of challenge...

And the "before Midnight' part is because it has to be in before Midnight on the 30th, so better to have that as a counting time to begin with.

Of course, this is my very first attempt at NaNoWriMo, so maybe I'm being naive, or paranoid, or whatever. I'll know better for next time (if I can set aside commitments again, like I was able to do this year.)

Actually, that's a very good strategy, especially in the first week when you're in the excitement of week 1. Because the more you write in week one, the farther ahead you will be for week 2.

Good luck and see you at the finish line!

Grady
