A friend sent this link to a story and photographs of a halo-shaped cloud that recently appeared over Moscow. Amazing photo

While this doesn't fit into my story, oh I say that now, I thought some of the zombie/scifi/fantasy authors might make good use of it. I know I would, and maybe still will for something else.

* I will take any ideas/thoughts/images of New Mexico as that is where the bulk of my story is set, present day.

Now I must get ready for a business trip in a few hours and 6 forced hours of noveling on a couple of planes. I'm going to use pen and paper as I've never been able to use my computer on a plane, it just too crowded and uncomfortable. Back too late Thursday night.
Have fun everyone.

Hmm. I don't know about New Mexico, but tomorrow I'll go through all the pictures I took when I went on a two week long expedition to Death Valley and post a few of the better ones. Maybe somewhere in there will be the scenic inspiration you're looking for.

Ooh, nice photo. I love seeing pictures of environments or things that I can use in my story. Even if I don't use an image, it still gets me thinking. :)

I've never been to New Mexico, but if you're looking for photos, I source that I like to use is DeviantArt.com. There are some fantastic photographers that upload their photos on that website. You'll be able to find anything from city pictures to sunrises. Hopefully it'll help!

I'm actually from New Mexico and I'd be happy to help with any scene questions you have. :) For me, the most striking difference between New Mexico and Madison is how vast and empty the desert is. You leave a town or city and it's like you're on another planet.

I'm not a big photo-taker but here are some I took a while back in Taos:

Thanks for the photo links, all. I know they will be a big help.

I had to go to Florida for two days on business (trapped in a conference room in the basement of a hospital - and they say architects have glamorous jobs). But I found the planes were an excellent place for forced NANO writing. All I brought on the plane was my notebook and 2 pens (one which leaked all over my shirt on the way home). No books no music just writing. I'm enjoying this.
