Hi Crimson
Glad to know you, this is my first NaNo as well and it seems to be working as far as inspiring goes, though I must say your word count is quite impressive.
What genre of story are you writing?

hi, ive been writing for years and i can now speed type so that helps with getting lots done. i also have a very over active creative imagination but most of my inspiration comes from dreams they can get weird. this one started off with a short dream of a beautiful woman sitting out in the sun with reddish brown wavy hair and a guy watching her and the song beauty has her way by mummy calls playing in the background. from there it turned into a vampire journal which im writing on my blog then when i started nano i decided it would make a good novel so it just seems to be writing itself now. i have lots of vampires and a battle and blood in this one. it is a new type of story for me.

Not bad, not bad. Had some of the events in my head already, so just a matter of finding the words. Although what's in my head won't make 50K, so I'll hit a point where I'm just making it up as I go along eventually.
----------Might skip to the ending and start writing that though, I know how it's supposed to end :)
Just have to fill in the middle bit another day.

Hello fellow Ayrshire Writers.
Good to see there are not too many too far away from me here in Arran, managed to do a little catch up today and must say, although there is a little tweak here and there to be done it is coming along nicely.
Amazing what the NaNoWriMo can do - mystical powers right enough!
How are you all doing? What genre are you writing for?
I am writing a suspense/thriller with a little politcal intrigue thrown in too.
Keep the ink flowing!

Fantasy with a bit of steampunkish sci-fi tech thrown in.
Very anime inspired :)

how is everyone doing with their novels i hope ur all ploughing on full steam.
ive come to the point where another big fight is about to come up and i have some tough decisions to make about should i kill off a main character and leave the partner in a mess or do i save her and therefore save him. there is so much to decide but im loving every minute of it.

Well, my novel is not plodding along at a pace I'd like, but I am happy with the quality to the story, I plan to do some great things this weekend, and write my lil ass off. I should have more time most of next week, so if I can get a little ahead of my daily required by midweek, i shall start to do a little of the editing and make it more substantial. I'd hate to have too much editing to do where I lose sight of the direction I am going in.
I started with a suspense thriller, and I now think this has a touch of political intrigue and today, would you believe I've managed to throw in a little sci-fi. I think this may turn out more sci-fi than anything in the end.
Enjoying myself and I think this is the greatest thing ever. There's also a little site that helps discipline you in your writing if you don't know about it, set a time, set a word goal and go for it, or it punishes you...lol
Give it a go, fun and inspiring too.

Hmm, checked that link out.
As soon as I saw the button marked "Electric Shock Mode", I decided not to. My writing is a little too unpredictable at the best of times, lol.
I think I'm doing ok though. Been going for around 2000 words a day from the start, so should give me a little bit of recovery time if I crash headlong into a writers block before the end :)
----------(The reason my progress graph is so erratic looking is 'cos sometimes it would slip past midnight before I updated with that day's word count, so it would think I hadn't done anything that day).

well ive realised that my story wont be done in 50,000 words will that be a problem or can you be over the 50,000 on here. i hope so.
ive just killed off two characters and saved one and added a vampire who looks like a healthy young man but who has senile dementia from being alone in a cave for so long. i dont know where these characters are coming from they just seem to appear in the story, i think they are taking over. i have not been sticking to a word count a day ive just been writing when and how much i feel like and it is going well im only about 15,000 words away from the target. and there i was at 20.000 worrying that i would not have enough to make it lol

Don't worry about your story needing to go over 50,000 words. That is just the minimum to win, everything over is just fine. My characters are taking over and I'm having problems keeping up with what they are up to.
You are doing great.
Keep writing.

Important things to remember during NaNoWriMo:
You can still do this! Trust me, I know you can.
You don’t have to spell check
Grammar is optional
Editing comes later
And a plot is used for gardening

It's going pretty well for me so far. I have a plot at last, which I didn't have when I started at the beginning. Characters have been writing themselves since I started, which is a plus point as I don't think I could've stretched the few scenes I had to 20k, let alone 50. So, so far so good. :)

You can do it, there is always another way to go around a block.

ive done that too with novels, writing it in chapters then organising them to make sense later. it can work out well. this one though has been from beginning to end and ive only had to go back and add two scenes in so they supported the story further on.

Well, I have just come out of king size few days of writer's block, thankfully I am making some headway and managed around 5k words today. Reaching the halfway point, which isn't too bad but I still have some catchup to do to be at the needed target. Confident I shall make it to the end and have my 50k done, Unfortunately, not going to be well over as I had hoped, but I'd be happy to reach the 50K
I am on the Isle of Arran, it is going to be difficult weather wise to make arrangement to get over, because it is a little bit up in the air as to whether the ferry can be trusted to run there and back alright. I also have a script to learn by Monday, as we have two weeks to start the panto I am doing and trust me when i say, the learning of the script is in a worse shape than my nanowrimo project. lol
How do other people feel about Crimson's idea to meet up in Irvine or something, any of you manage to make it?
Well, here's hoping I don't get too sidetracked with everything else that keeps me busy and by the end of this weekend, I entirely strive to be over my target.
Have a good weekend one and all

Take care of you

Dunno if I'd be able to make the Irvine meet up. Haven't really got any cash I can spare on the fare to get there. Can't even get any christmas shopping this year :( The bills are due to take every penny and then demand more :(
Ah well, maybe next year :)
Almost at 40K. And quite happy with the ending I've come up with :)
Needs serious editing, but it's in there, and it's suitably epic.
How's everyone else doing?

I wanted to thank you folks for being self organizing. I really hope to do a weekend wander after NaNo and get a chance to meet a lot of you. (Or anyone who is interested)
I admit to having a soft spot for Arran, since we spent our honeymoon there.
You folks are doing grand!
Keep Writing!

Well, my word count is going up, I have gone from being unable to write anything for about four days to being possessed by the ghost of Arthur Conan Doyle or someone of that nature and writing seems to be flowing freely. What's more it makes a lot of sense and fits well with the story.
There's editing to be done, but we are well on the way now.
Hoping for a bountifully inspired weekend, yes Arran is a lovely spot. I know a few couples who wander down these parts to get married let alone spend their honeymoon.
Give us a shout, if you get this far!
Hope all are doing well and carry on writing!

Just finished writing the "Epic Ending Battle Idea(TM)" that I'd had from the start, and I'm winding it down and tying things up ready for the "To be Continued..." message at the end that leads into Part 3 next year :)
Had a fight between the baddie and some characters on a floating island (floating high up in the air, not the sea, lol), while there was a big battle between some airships going on in the background (with the occasional stray missile hitting the island).
I'm waiting till the final parts before I start picking people off properly though.
----------Just going to spend the rest of the month trying to fill in the big gap in the middle where I skipped a load of chapters because I'd run out of ideas. Scraping the remainder of my word count together with that :)
Less than 10K to go, so still confident of adding a third purple circle to the profile next year :)
