Thank you for adding this. I feel terrible, I mean really terrible. I was so sick yesterday I didn't write. Now I am going to have to make up for lost time. I still feel sick. :-( But I'm going to

Prologue and most of the first chapter done. I started out trying to do a traditional work of fiction involving a web of criss-crossing characters. I am still trying to do that, but I've introduced a few fantasy elements (I would have simply done a fantasy novel, but I wanted an extra challenge I guess) by including a modern day necromancer. The story also includes a star college athlete on the run, two others experience a failed bank robbery, and an older man is brought into the fray when his ranch is burnt to the ground.

I had trouble reaching each day's word count goal the first two days, but I finally caught up last night, ending the night with 5,090 words! 1,578 words to go to reach today's goal of 6,668. Maybe I'll even pass it with what I plan to write today.

Woohoo! More places to just talk about NaNo. I love it. :-D I'm enjoying every minute of this. Well, outside of the hour or so every night when I dig in my heels and refuse to work on it. I force myself to, slug a little bit at the beginning, and then vroom! I'm off. I'm doing approximately 2K words every night outside of my "flashy" 4K start. I'm happy with my progress and how my story is advancing.
What I find amusing though, is that my "daily count" never quite begins and ends on the same day. I normally start writing around 11pm and finish around 1am or so. That has always been when I'm happiest writing. However, if I get from start to finish before midnight, November 30th, it's all good. :-D

I'm probably one of the youngest people that is registered on WDC that is doing it this year...
I did really well the first two days. Even went as much as to get day 3's work (I'm trying the 1667 words a day approach since I have school for eight hours still) done on the second day. However, last night, I caught writer's block...I got very little done, though I'm still not technically behind.

Huh, what? Plot Points? What are those again?
I have to laugh at myself. The week before NaNo began, I carefully arranged all my thoughts and put in brief plot points to help keep it moving in a straight line. Well, darn those characters! They completely took a detour around TWO plot points and headed a different direction. Actually, their direction is much more interesting, so I'm going to allow them to follow it for now. However, they'd better hit their assigned point at the end of the chapter or I'm going to have to sit down and have a long chat with them. The rest of the story does need to move in a certain direction. Their particular parts are a story within a story, so they're allowed to detour to a certain extent. :-) I like it when my characters take control. Like, last night, two of my characters meandered off and had lunch for crying out loud. That was NOT in the script. Oh, well. It worked, I guess. LOL I'll find out when NaNo is over and I've had a chance to read it for the first time. :-)
With that, I'm going to meander off now and see what my kids are up to. Happy writing!

I'll admit, I'm an amateur. I just start out with a character and let them lead me along...I had no idea what my story was going to be like. I can't outline. Even if I do try it, I never follow it.
Got my word count today!
