My mfc has to die, no way around it...that is if I want the rest of my ideas to work.
(so technically, she could live, but it would be a whole other ballgame, and I don't want play that one, lol)
I'm really enjoying her, and she's been in my head for so long now, she's like family.
(I know that I can not be the only one who falls in love with their characters!)
The dying is a good thing though, and I will be happy about it later, both as a writer
and reader.
Anyone else planning on killing off a mc? Let me know if I'm the only heartless witch around, lol!!!

Well I don't care if this is in the wrong forums or not. :p I am hemming and hawing over what epic destiny will suit my MFC by the close of the story.
I think what I will end up doing is writing two endings and deciding on which is the most poignant to use. Sort of like a DVD extra where you have the main ending as seen in the movie theaters and then buying the dvd and watching the Deleted Scenes and Alternate Ending in the special features side.
So yes, I do plan on killing my MFC for one of my endings, but will also have an ending of what would happen if she lived.

Awesome! You could always use both endings, and it would be like a
Choose Your Own Adventure Book!!!
(you remember those!)
That's a great idea about writing both endings :) I think you will be able to make the best decision that way.
You could always return with a book 2 and get a little creative on how to explain book ones grizzly ending!
Good Luck!!

Haven't killed the main character, but I have destroyed the universe around four times.

My MMC lives multiple concurrent lives in different times and dimensions. Poor guy is going to have to die in several of them, before the story is over!

Haven't killed anyone off yet, but if I don't get over this sickness anytime soon, I'm going to kill them all off real soon.

Well, actually I DO remember those books. Since I changed my mind on what to write for NaNo at the last minute, I'm pretty much going in the whole 'choose your own adventure' idea as I write because no preparation was put into my novel.

My story had three main characters(more or less, two, really...).
The first 3/4 of the book is in her point of view, and then she dies saving him, and his point of view takes over from there on out.
Killing her seemed like the only way to get to where i want to go in the story.
