To my fellow Las Vegans/Hendersonians:
Just this very minute, I decided to scrap the 2300 words I had and start my novel over. I have a plot, but I need some moral support.
Anyone else think I'm crazy for taking on this challenge?

We're only four days in, I don't think you're crazy. Go for it!

Awesome!
I feel bad that I'm missing tonight's Henderson write-in, but I forgot about it till just now, and I don't feel well anyways. Man, I really wish I had a license now. Xd
I need to go find the next Henderson meeting. -nodnod-

You only need to write 256 more words per day in order to hit 50k by the end of the month. If you have a really good day then you'll be back at 1667 per day, as though you'd never even started over!

Keep the 2300 words, you aren't married to them but you put in the effort and they count. I'm at 18k now and I'm pretty sure only 50% of it is presentable but the best has come out when I felt stuck and shut everything off, sat back and thought things through and started pounding away. Even if you do a drastic plot change with all new characters, don't start over, just keep plugging at it, it will come!

i agree with Jaime - don't scrap anything. nobody said this has to be Pulitzer-prize winning material right off the bat so just keep at it. every word (like every penny) counts. when i feel like scrapping the whole thing, i just put some *********** and start a new paragraph. that way i know where to fill in the blanks later.
