I am having so much trouble finding somewhere to go out and write at lunchtime between 14th and 23rd street. The starbucks have no seats and the borders on 2nd Avenue has been full. Anyone have other ideas on indoor places to write during lunch hours? I really do not want to write in McDonald's.

Cafe 28 (28th and 5th) has a second floor - it can get a little crowded at lunch time, but you should be able to find a seat. It has wifi, but not free.

Lenny's is a good spot - 23rd between 5th and 6th. You can also try the Gregorys Coffee on Park Avenue and 24th. I think they have wi-fi there, but I'm not sure if it's free or pay.

There is a Bravo Pizza and Cosi right next to each other on Park Avenue between 20th and 21st. Both have upstairs seating and the Cosi has wi-fi. You can also try the Cosi on 13th and Broadway, which I believe is open late as well if end up liking it.

Good luck! Writing at lunch is a great way to get a jump on your word count for the day!
