Every year. Every. Single. Year. I’m behind by day 5. But guess what? I catch up. You can too.

If you are behind right now, if you are watching the 10k shoutout grow with growing feelings of jealousy, if you are wondering what to do next, here it is:
KEEP WRITING!

Drag 1667 words out of the ether tonight, tomorrow, and then... It will be The Weekend.

Then, then we can certainly catch up. Hide in a library, leave your children on a neighbor’s doorstep, lock yourself in the bathroom, come sit in a bookstore with me, do whatever you have to do to catch those few hours that you need to embellish your wordcount.

Who else wants to declare their intentions of never giving up, never surrendering? (If you don’t feel like bragging, You're Not Alone.) We may have fallen behind, but we will not be left behind.

I'm so far behind it's awesome but it's also awesome that I'm at... 4,809 words (gotta update wordcount) and still tapping away! Roasterie nights always inspire and motivate me. It must be the I'm-desperate-to-type-words atmosphere that's so homey and inviting. lol

On a good note for you guys, starting tomorrow if you have written absolutely nothing (like the two people who got me on Nano in the first place to be moral support for them. <_<) if you start writing 2000 words per day starting tomorrow, you'll still reach 50k on Nov. 30th. Just to give you guys an idea of how really not far behind you are.

It's official. I am more behind than I ever have been in my NaNo life.

Don't I get a prize for accomplishing something new?
Or, rather, not accomplishing...

I am still plugging away. Remember when I said at the kick-offs to at least get a little word count every day?
I didn't know I was talking to myself at the time, but hey.

My weekend won't be the perfect catchup. Still, some tonight, some Sunday night at the Writers Place. I vow to end the weekend less behind than I am now. (Yeah, I know, it's not saying much.)

Yeah! My failtastic number laughs in the faces of all those 10,00s and 50,000s on NaNo! MUAHAHAHA!

Calm down, me. It's okay. We can handle it.

What is it they say on Mythbusters? "Failure is always an option!" No, wait, that's not the one. "I reject your reality and substitute my own." I will remain blissfully behind until such time as the press of the deadline forces it out of me, or a crazy creative urge. Whichever comes first.

You might know, only one week into NaNoWriMo and I'm felled by the flu! Now I find myself about 4,000 words short of where I wanted to be tonight. *sigh* Oh well, I guess If I'm gonna get behind, it's best to do it early so I have more time to play ketchup. Here's to an 8,000 word weekend! Tally ho!

(At least I'm feeling better today and I'm hoping to be caught up by the Sunday write-in ... or at least behind by a much slimmer margin.)

I am going to be behind after this week. My husband and I have fallen ill to the evil swine flu. Oink Oink. We are started to fall ill on thursday and its getting worse. I wasn't running a hundred fever until today my husband is running a hundred and three fever. We are struggling to get through this. I have a under lie illness that if I don't take care of my self or watch my self I could end up in the hosptial or worse in a grave. So trying to take it easy...

I am now only 2 days behind! Lol. Trust me, I've been behind by a much larger margin lately so two days for me is an "only" now. Hopefully I'll keep it going tonight and won't make it 3 days when tomorrow morning comes.

Yay for being behind. Lol. I think I'm about... three days?? Behind?

It's sad that I'm not sure at this point.

Oh the days of optimism, how far you are now to me...
<_< My weekend was not good, and this week is not going to be good for me either. Cue the hopefully last out of several weddings I was forced to go to as part of my very huge family. Not to mention several extended family members coming from out of town, thus killing my weekend of any productivity. And not just on Nano. <_< I'm behind on a school essay now, with another one I need to be heavily considering. And still need to study for the Calculus I exam so I don't have to take the class again. But it's been two and a half years since my last experiance with calculus. (which was very plesent actually, but I don't remember much of it.)
I will persevere...somehow. But at least as of right now I'm only 5000 words behind. Could be worse...

I am still not healthy and my lovely husband told me not to worry about writing until I am better. So I am falling even farther behind...ug...I don't think I like this.

Yeah, Ninja Rose, but you didn't start until a few days in, anyhow. The fact that you've pumped out this many words in the days that you have is impressive. Have you ever written this much before? Don't feel bad about not making it to a certain goal when you're breaking your own records!

I've written a close to 60,000 novel but it was a collaborative effort. So that's true!! And it took like a year. xD

I just wish I could get completely caught up! OCD!

Remember even if you only get to the halfway mark by the end of November, you've written more than most people who want to write a novel will ever do.

Press on. Even if you manage to write 100 words a day from here to the end, that's a good 2000 words you wouldn't have written otherwise.
