Alright I'm not entirely sure if any of you are actually going to make it to the one in Sanfransico (if you guys are great news and I'm completly jealous :D) anyway what I was thinking was (it might not be possible to do this this year but if there was interest) Would anyone be interested in having a New Zealand's own version of it? I wouldn't mind organizing one if there's the people who are interested? My parents do own a hotel here in little old Masterton and if anyone was keen we could have prices fundraiser for Nanowrimo and well do it that way?
What do you think? ML's opinion on the matter?
(and seriously I wish these Idea's that I keep on poping up where going towards my actual story.... must stop procastinating :) )

I'd definitely go if I could make my way there. Maybe organising one per island would be an idea? OHHH! You could be starting a trend!

Sounds like an awesome idea to me. Not sure if I could actually make it, but definitely something I'd love to see happen!

I like the idea of one per island as well! If I could make it, I would be so there.

I'd definitely be into it. Masterton would be great, fairly cheap and easy enough for people to hire a bus or for those in the south, grab a seat ;)

That would be pretty cool, but probably needs to be organised a little further in advance. I would be happy to look at organising one to be held in Christchurch next year. Maybe we could stick an entry fee on it with everything going to costs for the event (venue hire, food/drink/goody bags) and any extra income donated to the OLL.
If I don't continue/start talking about this once November is over on the NZ forums, somebody please send me NaNoMail or email (if you know it) and remind me...

Pfft, we can so throw this together. I've done more elaborate things on less time.
FIRST: Pic a date! 21'st and 28th would be the best bets, due to them being Saturdays.
SECOND: Confirm a venue! How much would your parents want to book out a chunk of their motel? Do they have a conference room type thingy?
THIRD: Find out how many people would agree to come.
FOURTH: Figure out what admin would need to provide. Snacks? Power cables? PA? Tables?
FIFTH: Divide costs by number of people and readvertise with the new figure.
SIXTH: Party like it's November 30th!

I'm from Wellington but my mother lives in Masterton so I'm totally up for it if it's happening :-)

I know it can be organised, it's just not easy for people to get to a particular place in the country on short notice. I won't be coming to this one, as I've got a few too many other things happening. I hope it goes ahead and you all have fun with it!

I'm pretty sure they're normal standard pricing is $50 for the conference room there, I'm night manager there at the moment due to a slight unexpected event that happened late last week (those who follow me off twitter might know about it our previous night manager passed away on Friday and the funeral's tomorrow) they might give me a discount and it does have a kitchen attatched.
There is one point that I might have to point out and that's that the backpacks/Hotel (its not really classed as either nor a motel more like a 'flashpackers') is that it doesn't have wifi HOWEVER the library almost next door does.Depending on the interest for this year I could get done or I could start organizing one for next year that way we had one for both North and South Island if mikethegirl wanted to do it that way?
