So, I haven't been writing that much. But last night I got up after half an hour of sleep and pulled out the pad and paper and hit my stride. Changed viewpoint characters, changed voice--radically, and just chugged right along. Decided to move to the computer and transcribed, adding more and more as I went. Then suddenly out of nowhere, while the character is in the attic above his shop, removing books from crates and being a good-natured soul, the words "Haunted Bookshop" flash before my eyes. Yup, my radically changed voice was Christopher Morley, whom I haven't read for twenty years.
