Hey guys the old LFP thread original post was confusing people so I thought I'd start a new one.

So we had our first Shoreline Write-in today and it was great! We meet at Laughing Ladies Cafe in Shoreline. We meet from 2-5pm Saturdays.

Today's turnout was totally great. Big enough to be feel like a social group, but small enough that it was still productive. I loved meeting everyone and hopefully you'll all come again each week. Props to Laughing Ladies for hosting us so kindly.

If anybody is interested I'm thinking of going to L.L on veterans day for the afternoon. As a government employee I have the day off, but all my friends will still be working and the libraries will be closed. PM me if you think you need to visit L.L. every day and think I'm totally cool to hang out with. *cough cough*

I thought it was a great place, and I'm planning to go back this afternoon for more uninterrupted writing time. Goodness knows I need it!

I'll have my tiny jester-hatted duckie out if anybody else happens to stop by. I don't know exactly what time I'll be there or for how long, but I'll be getting another pot of tea and looking forward to another great writing count day!

I should be there next week! I wanted to come this week, but it's kind of a trek (I bus out from Lynnwood) and I just got myself moving a little too late yesterday. But I'm looking forward to seeing all of you next week!

Had great fun and good productivity at the Shoreline Write-In yesterday. Very nice group to hang out, and write-in, with.

A Veteran's Day mini-write-in sounds excellent. Starting at about 2 pm?
(But , er, please PM me if by any chance you don't think I'm all that cool to hang out with. *cough cough*)
(I'd still show up, but I'd promise to wear a hat and sunglasses and pretend not to know you. :)
(...anyone know where I can get a hat & sunglasses for my duck? :) :) :)

LHSflute -

I'm also hoping to attend on Saturday, and coming from Lynnwood - so let me know if you want a ride! I'm more than happy to be your driver for the afternoon. I'll send you a private note and we can chat.

guys! GUYS! I was going through my moving boxes and I found my backup duck (who knew I had one) as well as an additional power strip!

Needless to say, I am going to bring both saturday, along with my wonderful nanoing sister who is up for thanksgiving this week from pullman. It is going to be great! So many plugs!

I had a great time last week, and would like to come again tomorrow. I've got a few irons in the fire, but should be there by 3 at the latest.

Is there anyplace else in this Universe that a "backup duck" makes sense? I think not. :)

What difference does it make. WE know and care for the very rare and, hopelessly, misunderstood 'backup duck'. It's a duck that, atleast around here, will not be going X stinkt-anytime soon.

it's true. A backup duck is a thing one would only need during a nanoing november in Seattle. And I wonder- besides your duck flying off your car at 40 miles an hour (I had put it on top of my car to make a ride share to kick off), what other ways can your duck fail to perform and need a substitute?
Perhaps if it failed to squeak appropriately. Or maybe it is not hydrophobic and likes water. Do rubber ducks get swine flu? And if so, does that make it duck flu? Should I get vaccinated for that?
