Okay, so, maybe you're under your word count for the week and you're feeling a little bit down. Or maybe you're well above your word count, but want something exciting until you reach the 50,000. :]
Today a couple of us decided that we're going to start awarding people for the little achievements that make us smile.
For instance, I successfully blew my nose while driving today. (A DIFFICULT TASK!) And I was quite proud of it and this was my reward. Created by kitty_0_kat.
So, if you feel as if you've accomplished something - even the tiniest thing - let us know, and we'll make you your own little award badges. :]

As someone still learning the intricacies of driving, that sounds like a truly astounding feat.
Today I single-handedly raked my whole lawn! Not nearly as impressive of a task as yours, but I'm proud of it. Also, the other day at work, I closed two different positions in the time it takes most people to do one, after someone quit about 10 minutes before close. That was a feat.

TA-DA! :]
I think raking the lawn is exceptional. I could never do it on my own. Haha. Though I really did wanna rake a bunch of leaves and jump into them before the snow came.

Asher and I made the trek from Standish to Bangor in two and a half hours without stopping.
If you've never ridden with a 3-month-old who hates his car seat and usually only sleeps for an hour in the car, you might not appreciate what a feat this is. @-@
Please keep your fingers crossed that he repeats it again, tonight.

I got into Elmira College Thursday with a full scholarship! ^_^
I still plan on writing for Maine though, even though I'll be living in NY next year.

I've been feeling down since I'm behind in my word count (my job has been hectic since November started) and just can't seem to catch up. What a great idea to give awards for the other little successes in our lives!
Today at work (I work at the Westbrook Animal Refuge League) I learned how to give cats pills on my own (with my own cats I've always needed my husband to help hold the cat while I jam the pill down their throats)! And I then successfully gave pills to five of the shelter cats on my own! So proud of myself. :)

I'm proud of you two! I know how hard that is. My own baby, Yoda, has wicked allergies and hates her steriod pills. I have to jam her between my legs and shove it down her throat while popping her jaw open. I salute you!

AWESOME!
I went to Elmira for a year. :D I would have stayed if I had a full scholarship. But I didn't. So, I'm here.
Hope you like purple.

I actually hate purple. xD When I visited my host was like, "I used to hate yellow, but now my sister says I bleed purple and gold."
Yeah, without the scholarship I'm toast. I can barely afford community college, but they don't have Audiology majors.

Today, I got the yard ready for the tree removal folks who are coming tomorrow: Blew leaves, spray painted the line where the septic pipes run, and cleared out around the trunk. This time tomorrow that old, sickly, annoying oak tree will be out of my life forever!

Reese -- after you go to Elmira, you will look back on the obsessive use of purple and gold with a wistful fondness and nostalgia. I actually get college-sick for it. :P

Ok, so I'm proud of myself... I STARTED writing! ack, yes STARTED! So now I have a WordCount, although it's low low low. I think it was harder to start than it was to write. ANd I don't expect any of this to live in the final product, unless it's some sort of prologue or something... but it's WORDS -- in a notebook, hand counted. Yes, me, the techie geek, computer nerd, has decided I"m a LUDDITE!!! I can't write on the computer - the computer is too much FUN FUN FUN! and sucks my time away... Eventually I will have to type it in - but I'm afraid of the "delete" key, but I can just TURN THE PAGE and move on, not re-seeing the bad stuff over and over. Typing can go in with editing, in that famed month of DECEMBER! ;)
Might make it to the Write-In in Augusta on Wednesday, WITH the daughter who's already 25% of her 15,000 word count, since there's no school that day! At least I've started my novel, so I feel I can show my face! :)

Thank you! And though the tree people didn't come because of...well, someone got the dates wrong (and it might have been me), we still got the yard work done, and that's a good thing.

This is for Maemi and fighting off depression one day at a time (I used to be clinically depressed, so I know how hard it can be)! The chemical in the image is Serotonin (Changes in the serotonin levels in the brain can alter the mood. For example, medications that affect the action of serotonin are used to treat depression.). This picture is a necklace I found on Etsy at this shop I liked her description of Serotonin: "I've wrassled with both depression and anxiety for over 6 years now. This little necklace, reminds me that the thing that plagues me is but a tiny molecule."
Congrats!
