Also 'Getting Rid of Writer's Block'.
YES. I know this belongs in Reaching 50, 000 but hey, why not one for us? (if this is inappropriate to be here, tell me. I'll copy+paste it into Reaching 50k then you can delete this one haha).
So. What are your ways to keep on writing? Sometimes you need that extra push to get you to your goal, if you're anything like me (I get stuck every 400 words or so, haha) so what are your motivations, ways that make you keep on writing even when it feels like your fingers are gonna fall off?
People who're behind, you should probably come to this thread. xD
So here are mine:
1. Tell everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY that you'll get the 50k done. Then you'll have peer pressure, too.
2. Know your limits. I know I can write about 1000 words in WOD in half an hour, so I set the timer to thirty minutes and go. It's nice to see your word count increase by a thousand. Take a break, then go again. I got 5k or so done today with this. Since the day hasn't ended, probably more. (If I took shorter breaks, even more xD)
3. Incentives. You know, like "I WON'T GO TO THE TOILET UNTIL I GET THIS NEXT 500 WORDS DONE!"
Or, well, snacks.
4. Word Wars. Once you start, you don't stop till it's over. It's a great writing boost, simply join the NaNo chatroom at http://www.goodchatting.com/rooms/nanowrimo.php and participate in a word war if there's one going on. Or wait until one starts. Or type "!startwar " without quotations to start your own. So if you type "!startwar 5 10" It'll be 5 minutes until it starts (giving people time to join) and the war will last 10 minutes (you have 10 minutes to write as much as you can.
5. Go to the write-ins. Ask people their wordcounts, then if one is higher than yours, go as fast as you can to beat the guy. Like I did. YOU KNOW WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT.
6. Have writer's block? Force it out word by word until you get through.
7. Think. Why are you writing? For the joy of it? For the CreateSpace reward? Because your mom told you to? Think about it, be happy, and find the motivation in yourself again. (Or if your mom told you to do it, be scared. Be very scared. That wasn't a jab at mothers by the way. Mothers are awesome.)
8. Destroy all distractions. Something like DarkRoom or Write Or Die. Or you know what, just unplug your mouse, give it to your neighbour and tell them to give it back in an hours time. Never before. Ever. And then type, since you can't browse (unless you want to alt-tab, then keep pressing tab till you find the link you need, tab, and keep browsing with tabbing... yeah, way too tedious.)
9. Have a talk with your characters. Out loudor in your head, I don't know, but ask them what they'd do. Sometimes it doesn't come to you so easily, but chat with them for a while and you'll figure it out.
So, that's it for me. What're yours?

Well, don't just sit there, kid, go start the 20k cheer thread!
Although I think I saw that someone reached there before this weekend. Was it with Durch die Spiegel? I forget.

See, this is why I try not to reveal my age. (I'm kidding xD)
The reason didn't start the 20k thread is because I wanted to get 25k first. It's more significant to me. You're welcome to create the 20k thread though xD
I think it was Azuire. Maybe not, but she is at 26k so... Yeah. Pretty much the highest I've seen.
(Come on guys, post your own methods =D)

No, I think I'll just go chase your 25K mark. Sadly I'm a bit of a plodder, so I'll probably not catch up unless I manage to get a whole day to myself.

Chase it if you will. I just got 3k done this morning (woke at 6) so I probably won't get any more done today. Also I'm pretty sure I'm about to run headlong into a block xD (Both a literal and a metaphorical one... You know, first the metaphorical, the the literal.)
To continue:
10. Write while sleepy. Since you have no idea what you're doing, you get a lot of words done before you realise it. (Doesn't really diminish writing quality. Typos maybe, but quality no.)
