Welcome to members and friends of Winston-Salem Writers!

My name is Stacy and I'm a one time NaNoWriMo finisher and a member of Winston-Salem Writers. I had a great time writing last November and I'm looking forward to trying it again.

Please join me and other Winston-Salem Writers at Panera Bread on South Main Street in Kernersville on Sunday, November 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. Share the excitement of your first day of writing. We will also have a door prize. "No Plot? No Problem!" by NaNoWriMo creator Chris Baty.

As the title implies, I am only good for about 40 minutes of writing per sit before my mind goes numb or the ADD kicks in. I am new to writing in this format so any tips that you all use to keep your mind primed and pumping out literary gold would be welcome.

I figured since there are several of you from aroiund Jacksonville I'd see who all was military. My husband is a Navy Corpsman stationed at Camp Lejeune, he's been in for over 6 year now. I spend my free time at the library on base and was wondering also if anyone else does?

I tried the whole meet at the coffee shop deal for the Clevland County place, and i'm the only person who showed up lol. So anyways, I was wondering if anyone is in my area, that could meet up sometime soon just to discuss and perhaps plot out some stuff, help with storylines, and overall just have like some kind of support group I assume? lol.

Let me know if you're interested, or even in the area. Support is the key I think.

Rocky Mount Write-In on the 22nd

Any NaNo's in the Rocky Mount area, you should come to Via Cappuccino on the 22nd from 3pm onward for a massive coffee-fueled write-in. For those who aren't familiar with Via, it's a comfy little coffee shop that plays soothing and inspiring music al day and has a really great staff. Wi-fi and comfy couch area are provided.
I think this would be a great chance to have a designated time to stay focused on writing, meet the aspiring novelists in the community and bounce inspiration and energy off each other.

So what do you guys say?

I have Scotland, Elsewhere as a second region because my daughter writes from there. I've been receiving good encouraging emails from their ML, so went looking for our ML; we don't have one for NC, Elsewhere and there are oven a thousand of us not really connected with any of the other NC regions, so may be next year?

I'm in Mebane and would like to connect with anyone nearby.

I am just curious if anyone out there is from this area. I live out in the middle of nowhere on a mountain side. In fact I don't live in either towns mentioned above. I just have a Bakersville address. Not born here just moved here under some crazy circumstances. So give a shout out if you just happen to live in the area.

Triad-Area Writers UNITE!

Hey there everybody!

Well, last year, there were about half a dozen triad-area writers that agreed to meet at Barnes and Noble, or Starbucks, or wherever about once a week during NaNoWriMo. We also met once or twice before, I believe. I was just wondering if anyone from around here is doing NaNo this year, or am I alone? :p

It might be kind of fun to try and set up a time to meet at the Barnes and Noble in Winston-Salem, or maybe Foothills Juice and Java in King, in late October. I'm going to be out of town from the 25th-30th, so it would be great if we could meet before then... say, the 24th :p
