Participant Icons

There are many, many reasons to do NaNoWriMo. But one of the most important is to impress the people who visit our websites and blogs with our participation in the escapade.

To help members of Team 2007 spread the word about their NaNoWriMo participation, we've put together an unbeatable array of participant icons for your downloading and re-posting convenience.

Most web browsers have a Save Image or Save Picture feature: PC users can right-click on the image to bring up a menu, and Mac users can just hold down the mouse button over the image. Please download your own copy to use on your website.

Once you've downloaded the file and put it somewhere on your webserver (if you don't have your own webspace, you can use a free image uploading site like Photobucket), you can use HTML such as the following to make them point to interesting places:

This HTML example will only work if you replace with the path and filename of the downloaded icon file as it appears on your webspace. If you saved the image to a different directory on your webserver, you'll have to modify the HTML to point to the correct location.

You can link back to us (as the example code does), your Flash author profile, or your uncle's haberdashery—just replace the http://www.nanowrimo.org in the example with the address of the site you'd prefer. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Happy writing!
