Brief Author Bio:

I'm a born-again Christian teenage girl who's in love with Jesus Christ, and am SO thankful that He brought NaNo into my life! I've been NaNo-ing for...three years now? This is my fourth year, I believe, and I'm hoping my third win. I am a writing fanatic, pretty much, whether or not I'm any good at it. So yeah. That's me, I guess.

Synopsis: My Friend, the Wonder Girl

Clarisse Dee Williams is just your average college girl - energetic, blonde (in an African-American way), and best friend to...oh, probably millions - until some "fast, hard evidence" convinces her that her roommate, Natalie Carson, can read minds. Despite the skepticism of her best friend, Beth, and her boyfriend, Ryan, Clarisse is determined to convince Natalie to come into the light and use her power for the greater good. This fast-paced novel about a faster-paced girl tells a tale of friendship, joy, and the knowledge that simple trust in God often leads to achieving the impossible.

Excerpt: My Friend, the Wonder Girl

The shattering of glass and the broken pieces of the window flying all over the jail cell was, needless to say, startling. I screamed and Natalie and I dropped to the floor and covered our heads. After everything had fallen, I looked up just in time to see a hand reaching in through the now open window and throw something onto the floor.
I screamed again, not knowing what else to do. Natalie immediately jumped up to reach it but the hand disappeared just as Natalie grabbed at it. She looked down in search of the person as I looked at the thing on the ground. It was a tiny black half-spherical shape with a blinking green light.
“Natalie, what is this?”
I almost reached out to touch it but thought better of it just as Natalie screamed, “Don’t touch it!!”
“Is it a bomb?”
“Yes!”
The green light blinked faster.
Natalie ran to the door and screamed for somebody to get in here.
“Why can’t we just throw it away?”
“If you touch it, it will kill you.”
I recoiled from it. “What do we do?”
The light turned red.
“Nat, what does that mean?” I started to panic.
Natalie looked at it. There was an LED screen on it, and on that a number was counting down, now at seventeen.
“What do we do? What do we do?”
Sixteen.
“Hurry up! The window!”
Fifteen.
I ran to the door. “SOMEBODY GET IN HERE NOW!!”
Fourteen.
“Reese, out the window!”
Thirteen.
“But-“
“Don’t argue! Get over here!”
Twelve.
Natalie already had the bunk pushed up against the wall under the window. We started to scramble up.
Eleven.
“Get out! Grab the ledge!” Natalie yelled.
Ten.
I tried edging out the window.
“Don’t look down!”
Nine.
“I don’t know if I-“
“Keep going!”
Eight.
“I’m trying!”
I was, but I couldn’t get down.
Seven.
Natalie grabbed my hands and started to lower me down to the ledge. I grabbed at it.
Six.
I had a good grip. Natalie started to come through the window.
Five.
Natalie lost her footing, and I screamed – but she didn’t fall.
Four.
Police burst in the door as Natalie dangled from part of the bunk bed.
Three.
“Stand back!” Natalie screamed. “It’s a bomb!” She was not quite down yet.
Two.
“Hurry up!!”
“Get the bomb!”
One.
“NATALIE!!!”
“It’s gonna blow!!"
The explosion sent Natalie flying out the window with a scream.
